I do think the UFL should be used as a development league. I think it would give a chance for players to be in shape and ready for a callup. Let's just hope that they don't start relegating teams because we all know where CLE and BUF would be.

Regulation would never happen here in the USA. But it sure would be interesting. At least Regulation encourages the owners to spend money on their teams so that they don't become regulated. It would be kinda cool to see a 4 team playoff at the end of the year with the losers advancing, and then the loser of that game goes on to face the UFL champion in order to see who gets to be the NFL's 32th team the next year. Have that game be the weekend before the Superbowl, it would get pretty good ratings.

Wow, Jacksonville sucks.

But yay for TEN D, as they are helping me win my GPL FFL game. Was down 2, with TEN D vs MJD left. Now up by about 9. :D

What a drive here by Jacksonville to bleed the clock and preserve the lead.

Wait, what's that you say?

Yea... I am really wondering what the hell that was :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I've had Del Rio's back, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's time to get some fresh ideas in there...

A division rival is going crazy right now. CJ needs 100 total rush yards and a td and he ties.

Edit: need to clarify: his opponent has CJ. And oops, also has TEN K.

So my division rival just lost on a total garbage run. Wow.

I love it! I'm now running up the score on the opponent who has MJD (and who offered me Kyle Orton for Chris Johnson) and will have the highest score in my league this week.

What's really hilarious, is that I came back from 15 down last week, only having Jets K. My rival's opponent this week was my former co-owner/protege. Guess it runs in the coaching tree. :D

I just lost on that CJ TD run too. I hope he breaks his leg next week. I literally checked my score during the break right before that play and thought to myself as long as he doesn't run it on this play I'll be okay because certainly they'll just take knees after getting the 1st. I sit down on the couch and boom. ****

You know what? I'm sick and tired of these ESPN dunderheads saying that it isn't the helmet-to-helmet INITIAL contact. It's the helmet hitting a shoulder pad and then coming up to hit the other helmet. THEY'RE LEADING WITH THE HELMET! That's a problem!!!

I like what ditka is saying. The helmet is now being used as a weapon. Instead of helmet-to-helmet penalties, just call the leading with the helmet PERIOD.

It's not legislating a weaker sport. It's ensuring that these people aren't killed or paralyzed out on the field. There's a reason you don't see 75-year-old football players. Time to keep these guys from killing themselves. I don't normally like the NFL's disciplinary wheel of justice. But this time they're spot on.

The rule is leading with the helmet, IIRC. Helmet to helmet is a way to relate it to the masses.

I agree. The reason these types of hits weren't illegal before is that science wasn't sophisticated enough to figure out that these hits could eventually kill you. Now we know they can. Time to control it. Now...if only Aaron Rodgers could get a call or two (see last play vs Cards in playoffs; concussion hit vs 'Skins).

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

So, usually my division is a clusterf* by the end of the season. This year? I guess we're not wasting any time!

Me: 3-2-1
2-2-2
2-2-2
2-4-0
2-4-0
1-3-2

WTeff? Seriously.

Hmm... Interesting... Well, time to step up the punishments. Give it a game suspension (league discretion with regards to intent) with a 1-game escalator each subsequent violation.

Not only that, but we KNOW they eventually kill them. I honestly don't think there's any "could" about it. :D

I fully expected to get reamed for my post. Nice to know there are others out there that think along similar lines.

It makes sense in the relating part of my post: if you lead with the helmet, chances are you're hitting the other helmet, as opposing players seem to cower a little (and lower their helmet) and thereby creating a helmet to helmet hit, despite the defender aiming his helmet in the chest area (most likely).
