NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

As a Seahawks fan, I have no idea what to make of this. Are they hiding a Forsett injury? Did they mistake Lynch for a competent quarterback?

I see what you did there. ;)

And I'll believe the Moss stuff when it's official. Remember when Moss was getting traded to the Packers?

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

rumors on moss is that it would be for a third round pick... pats are foolish if they are doing this... they are completely underestimating the impact he has on players like welker, et al with his deep threat...

If they aren't going to resign him, which is the general sentiment, why not get SOMEthing for him? It might not be "market value" but it's better than nothing.

They might consider him more valuable to helping them win this year vs getting rid of him by the end of week 6 for a 3rd rounder. Although I don't think they are necessarily good enough to win this year.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Packers are **** stupid :(

Depends.

We know Thompson was dangling a 4th rounder for Lynch. But what's the condition on that 2012 pick? How high of a pick is it (second rounder, maybe even a first...)? For what incentive (if he resigns, if he gets over X yards this year...)?

As crazy as it is, and as much unlike hockey as it is, we all have to admit that draft picks are a big deal in the NFL. Do we get Clay Matthews if we don't have two second rounders to trade? What value might we miss out on in 2012 if we make the same deal that Seattle made?

I don't think they are, either. And can you imagine someone like the Jets or Miami ponying up the cash for Moss in FA? That'd be trouble, methinks. MN is out of conference, they are somewhat desperate (given that it's pretty much this year or bust for them), and NE gets a possible decent player via the draft out of the deal.

Not to mention...Boston owes us. :D

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Doesn't Dallas owe the Vikings far more than Boston? I mean they did steal 3 super bowls from them.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Ortiz only got good once he got on natural grass and was simply a DH with a short/low left field...

... okay, and probably a bunch of steroids

Fixed.

FYFYP

That's a lie and you know it. No way he Vikings would have won a Super Bowl.

At least, there's no way that happens without the Universe undoing itself.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Wouldn't the Universe have to undo itself before the Fins win another Super Bowl. :D

If that happens, I think you'll be hearing the Cloister Bell.

i understand the rationale, i just don't agree with it... i think they should sign him....

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Listening to ESPN this morning, the Moss to MN deal is expected to be done today. So he would probably see the field against the Jets on MNF.

The Saints won and we're still here.

Or maybe this is the different universe and we have no memory of what came before. It would explain that nasty rash.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

I would be making a joke about the Bills and undoing the Universe, but I promised Brent I'd tone it down. :D

Perhaps if I cannabalize the TARDIS into a Paradox Machine I could get the Bills to win the Super Bowl.
