NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Dunno how many years you've been a fan, but I started when Jim Kelly first joined the Bills.

I'm fed up, too. But, we have 3 decent RB's, at least one decent WR (I dunno if I really count Parrish as a WR), and an okay D/ST. Need a line, and JFC, I'm ready to sign Todd Collins BACK from the Bears. But, continuously railing on the subject gets no one anywhere, so I just let it go, and continue to hope. That's all.

You would make an awful PC hockey fan. In that Hokydad would like you.

In every league I was ever in, that was referred to as "Jon's team".

Seriously?
NFL asks senator to remove Randy Moss mooning video from ad
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 5, 2010 1:53 PM ET

Randy Moss makes a cameo appearance in a new campaign commercial from U.S. Senator Russ Feingold, and the NFL isn't happy about it.

The ad for Feingold, who's running for re-election in Wisconsin, includes footage of the 2005 incident in which Moss, then with the Vikings, scored a touchdown against the Packers at Lambeau Field and then proceeded to moon the crowd. It even includes the audio of broadcaster Joe Buck saying, "That is a disgusting act."

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the league contacted the Feingold campaign about removing the footage, which Feingold did not have the league's approval to use.

The commercial shows Moss's antics, along with a couple other scenes of football players celebrating, and then features Feingold saying, "In pro football, they call this excessive celebration. And they punish it with fines and 15-yard penalties. It's exactly the kind of behavior that corporate special interests and Ron Johnson are engaging in. They're dancing in the end zone because they think they're going to take down the U.S. senator who's been named the No. 1 enemy of Washington lobbyists."
Including the Joe Buck audio is a bridge too far and should cost Feingold a few votes. Why should anyone be subjected to more Joe Buck than is absolutely necessary?

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

That doesn't even get a reaction out of me at this point. It's the NFL. They don't want Jared Allen doing his sack dance anymore because it hurts the head of officials' feelings.

Buffalo trades Lynch to Seattle for a 2011 fourth-rounder and a conditional pick in 2012.

I think the ad was produced in international waters using implied oral consent, not express written consent.

I saw that ad last night and had the same idea.

As a Seahawks fan, I have no idea what to make of this. Are they hiding a Forsett injury? Did they mistake Lynch for a competent quarterback?

Hahahahaha! Twice this year! First, the Eagles think Vick is good because of the Lions, and now the Packers think they have a running game because of Detroit.
Ah...no, they don't...Ted Thompson is just too stubborn to make trades or sign free agents...

18 for 72 (21 for 92 overall) against a ****ty lions team isn't something I'd call a "running game" especially when Detroit averages allowing 134 a game

Vick was good in the second half against Green Bay, and against Jacksonville. I don't think the Lions had all that much to do with it.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

To be fair, the Lions haven't had much to do with anything for a while.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

I guess there are some Moss to Minnesota rumors swirling around. What would New England do that for?
Why would Minnesota do that? New England might do it to try to get something for him since it sounds like they don't have an interest in resigning him.

Because their WR's are worse than the Bears and they are going to suck next year when TJack is at the helm. May as well try everything they can to win this year. Sure, it's doomed to failure, but they can still try.

Oh, as a GB fan, Favre and Moss would scare me a whole lot more than Favre and his current batch of incompetents do.

I mean, long term it's stupid, but if you figure they have one more shot a title here, why not go for it?
