They're afraid of a frozen field? Do they realize that they play home games in Chicago?

Dick Butkus should show up and hammerpunch every Bear player in their vag.

Bears don't think playing at TCF is very safe:

Ummmmmm.....last weeks game was in Chicago....in a snowstorm....in below zero celsius ( sorry I'm Canadian) temps...and they have no underground field heating system....I'm thinking that maybe the field was, oh I don't know, what's the word....frozen?

Somehow this is all Belicheck's fault.

According to the Jets, it is! From the article:

A Jets spokesman deferred to the league for comment.

Westhoff, in his 28th season as an NFL assistant, spoke to the Chicago radio station on the same day the Jets announced they had discovered "new information" on the Alosi matter -- information that he had organized the wall. He was part of that formation and extended his left knee as Carroll sprinted by.

"If you watch carefully, there is a pretty good team up north that lines up their whole defense when they do it, so it's something that just kind of happened," Westhoff told the radio station, confirming that he meant the Patriots.

Later in the day, addressing reporters at the Jets' facility, Westhoff said, "I'm not accusing the Patriots of doing something wrong. Maybe they're doing something smart. That's up to you. Just watch the tape. You tell me. I know one thing, I don't teach it."

Someone on Mike & Mike said a few days ago (well before the "intentional" crap came out) that almost all NFL teams do this. I thought it is actually intelligent. Toe the line (literally) to the letter of the law. I wish the NFL would just die already.

It is smart. If this guy didn't trip the player, all would still go on. Now, they might create a rule or whatever. One idiot's actions could cause waves in the league now.

So the Vikings have announced their policy for the Monday night game. It will be first come, first serve general admission seating by level. Oh and...

Game Logistics
The Vikings and the University of Minnesota have agreed no alcoholic beverages will be served. No outside food or beverages will be allowed into the stadium. Game parking details will be announced in the coming days.

When asked for further confirmation, a Jest coach responded, "The Patriots are also to blame for climate change, gas prices, taxes and the lack of peace in the Middle East."

I thought all outdoor NFL stadiums had the heating system in place at this point - Soldier Field was renovated less than 10 years ago, seems likely they would have put some sort of system in place.

Even if they don't - there's still a difference between frozen grass and dirt and the frozen rubber that makes up FieldTurf.

Rex Grossman to start for Washington Sunday in Dallas.

Rex Grossman?!

Only going by what I heard Ditka say in the pre-game show, that Soldier Field didn't have one and that it was a political decision to not put one in.

As for your second point I agree wholeheartedly, although I do feel that any kind of artificial turf is evil incarnate :D

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

Grubman called football a "cold-weather sport" and noted that several other NFL teams, including the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, play in outdoor stadiums with no heating systems to keep their fields warm.
From NFL.com article.

You're probably right. The frozen dirt is likely much harder.

Carl Eller thinks their all wimps. Okay he didn't actually say that, but I think that was what he meant. :) He also mentioned that Bud Grant would say, "Dont worry about the weather, we aren't playing it."
