NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

The video shows several jet sideline folks lined up shoulder to shoulder, toe to toe, right on the edge of the white sideline barrier stripe...it is clear they are there to prevent a player from running down the sideline if he is pushed out of bounds...I've never noticed a team doing that before and we see plenty of those shots during the year...the comish should take that into account, who organized the line of people, what was their intention, was there a 'plan' to push the gunner into the line?

If a player gets fined $25k for a cheap shot, a coach should bet more than that.

U2's concert for this summer was postponed. I believe it will occur in the summer of 2012.

I thought that if the UMTC Regents approved alcohol sales for this event, that they would be able to sell it. But if they need a license...perhaps not.

Nope. No booze.

Public events are dry. Private events (weddings, etc.) can have booze.

That will put a hurt on the pocket book for the Vikings. At this point drinking is all you can do at this part of the season...

This Metrodome thing is going cost them a lot of money.

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

1. I could see a temporary license being issued. Follow the money.
2. Patrick Ramsey? Really? Kevin Kolb is on the phone with his agent right now. ;) (seriously, the Vikes should make a play for him in the offseason)

Another Metrodome roof panel falls.

Wow! You gotta wonder now if its even worth trying to repair the roof there verses just tearing it all off, tarping up the insides as best they can, and putting on a whole new roof sometime in the spring when everything thaws out. Then again, if they get the new stadium, might not be worth getting a new roof at all if they can make do with it for one or two seasons.

I thought this quote from the chicagosports.com story was a bit strange.

One source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said if the game isn't played in Minnesota the likely destination is Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

Somehow this is all Belicheck's fault.

Funny you should say that...

Bears don't think playing at TCF is very safe:

The plan, however, isn’t exactly going over well in Chicago.

Bears safety Chris Harris(notes) said he understood why the Vikings want to play their home finale in Minnesota “but at the end of the day you’ve got to be safe.”

“The NFL is cracking down on all this player safety and fining people $75,000, $50,000 for a hit because they want the game to be safer,” Harris said. “I don’t think it’s very safe to play on a frozen field.”

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

I got a kick out of John Clayton saying that MN wanted a home game bEcause a lot of "big names" were coming, then he said (wait for it) duante cullpepper.

:D

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

The Bears just want the game moved to Detroit because it's one thing to get carved up by Tom Brady in the snow. It's another thing altogether if Patrick Ramsey makes you look stupid. And heck, Drew Stanton almost did it. Mike Singletary is spinning in his coaching career's grave.
