Tech's play with a lead sorta reminds me of what happens to this guy every April:

It's like they have no desire to put teams away when they have the chance.

Hey Tech fans. You have a lot to hang your hats on this year. MTU should get to 15-18, maybe 20 wins if they continue to play as well as they did in Madison. This is as good a tech squad as I've seen since the Mikesh(sp?) kids played there. for at least 2 periods out of 6 MTU outplayed UW. I was at the game tonight sitting behind Bennett's goal and that first period UW was lucky they weren't down 3-0.

I for one, hope your team keeps it up. MTU has a great tradition. good luck the rest of the way

Well, I suppose it could've been a lot worse. We could've given up nine goals, at home, to the Gophers.

I'm sure it's going to be another interesting two weeks of practice. If we had split in Madison, I would've preferred not to have the bye week, but since we came away pointless I think we have to refocus and get back to what we were doing right before this trip. I like our odds in Duluth if we can keep their top line off the scoresheet. Wish I had the time and money to go see one of the last series to be played at the old DECC.

I will be in attendance at the Decc, should be a good series

I agree with fade, don't know what to feel really. I'm not at all sure umd is as good as wisco is.
I think it's a wake up call too. The pp has to be better, and we can't take any time off in the second period. we seem to ease off when we score a goal and that's the time to really put it in another gear instead.

Wish we had played them a little closer though.

I did like that we seemed to play better than against mankato. I guess we just have to keep getting better and hope that translates. I think it will.

kind words and good to hear this morning while still hurting.

I'm disappointed in not getting points, but the team played pretty well and we didn't give up.

Time will tell, but goaltending is still Duluth's most average position IMO. Though they have a couple other guys with double digits, if you can hold off the Connollys and Fontaine, I think they're beatable.

Of course, the DECC has that extra short sheet of ice too, so there will be more opportunities for shots on goal (for both teams).

I'm not going to get too negative after getting swept this weekend. I would say this team will still be better on the smaller ice sheets than on the olympic which has been pretty typical with Jamie's teams. We'll see how UMD's smaller ice sheet goes in two weeks.

I think that's pretty much a given. It sounded like this series wasn't particularly physical (Dirk would've called out big hits for either team, and I didn't hear a peep out of him in that regard), and we know JR's teams are usually built to hit.

For those of us who "live and die" for our favorite college hockey team, there comes a time when that is secondary. And that time came to Pioneer fans this weekend.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — University of Denver center Jesse Martin sustained three neck fractures in Saturday night's hockey game at North Dakota and was transferred to a Minneapolis hospital this morning where doctors are deciding if emergency surgery is required to relieve swelling of the spinal cord, the player's father said.
