thuskyfan wonders if it is time to tstart the tUMD tthread?

The Monster thinks that might be a bit too soon. The Monster does think that it would be hard for everybody to keep talking in the third person for more than a week.

F2B&G almost forgot about the rule of UMD week. F2B&G thinks that thread should wait until next week, since UMD has another series first. F2B&G also doesn't want to sift through the stupid and unnecessary overuse of the 't's for two weeks.

You can't win bb_dl. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than what you can possibly imagine. :p;)
I'm pretty sure your football team is the one that didn't win. I was full of win this weekend.

Re: "Next Year" Begins Now: Michigan Tech 2010-11 Season Thread Part I

They're still in the hunt for the playoffs, and have a good chance of hosting a game yet.
Is that a good thing? I don't even know. For all I know it could be like the CCHA and the 8th place team gets to host playoff games.

Six teams in each of the four regions are in, with the top two seeds in the regions getting byes in the first round.

Wait, you really don't realize that I simply don't care? I thought that was the whole point of this. D2 football means nothing to me, why would I give a flying **** about their playoff system? D2 football falls in somewhere in the ice dancing - soccer range as far as I'm concerned. The only way that D2 football remotely interests me is that I can use to twist the knife when your team loses.

You can do that, but like I said, it only makes me more powerful. ;) It still shows you give a ****.:D

Then there's the "Earned Access" thing.

If you finish ranked #7 or #8 in your region, but you won your conference, you bump the #6 team.

This has exactly the result on fan bases you think it does.

You really should donate your brain to science, the human race could benefit greatly from learning as much as possible about how it works, as to attempt to never repeat the same mistake.

The rankings are out, and right now, MTU is currently at seventh in the region, outside looking in, right behind St. Cloud. Looks like Tech's lack of a non-conference game is hurting them. However, things should be pretty close, and with two games left, the math could work out to where MTU is in. GVSU looks solid at the 3rd seed, and would be hosting the 6th seed.

EA doesnt exactly require a team to win the conference. Just be the top team in the rankings and 7 or 8th. In hockey terms, it would be like the best team in the AHA getting into the NCAA's by being at least in the top 24th or so at the end of the year.

So if the Tech football team does well they have the chance to play grand valley at home again right?

on a much better more fun subject, I object to special treatment for dogs and therefore since I do not discriminate, think it best to ignore the aforementioned um/d chicanery and post this instead.

now THAT'S what I'm talkin about!

Re: "Next Year" Begins Now: Michigan Tech 2010-11 Season Thread Part I

Just a heads up to everyone, there has been a Frank Wilson sighting. He, apparently, convinced Kathy to send an email to the Blueline Club with this:

Do you have CCHA media guides from when Tech was in the CCHA in the 80s? I am looking for some info in them.
