Re: "Next Year" Begins Now: Michigan Tech 2010-11 Season Thread Part I
Oh really? I didn't notice by the very small goal differential
** I was really bored, skip down to the starred line if you don't give a ****
As for the dorms, the main 3 building are always pretty full, as for the new apartment building that just got finished, the last I heard, it was still very empty due to the fact that the university can't put students there unless they specifically ask for it, and not many students ask for it because the cost of these new apartments is absolutely ridiculous **goes and looks up figures**
A standard room (1 room, 2 people) in Wadsworth (majority of on-campus students are in this building) with the lowest meal plan, which is unlimited meals per semester, some number of guest meals and some number of on-campus "dining dollars" is a grand total of $4352 for a fall or spring semester
The new apartment building which is a 4 bedroom apartment, each bedroom is a single, and you get 50 meals for the semester, (you can upgradebut this is what's included), 50 isn't bad, that's about 3-4 meals a week, which means you'll obviously have to spend money outside of that. According to the Housing website, it's $4200 for a fall or spring semester, which is less, but you have to figure you'll spend more on food and such outside of that.
So I guess it's not that much more expensive, but it's also the fact that it's a 4 bedroom apartment, and I honestly get along great with the friends I made in the dorms, but I don't think I'd ever want to share a 4 bedroom apartment with some of them.
I'm in a 5 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 kitchen house right now, pretty good size and some of my roommates still drive me crazy

That is all
Notes from Jamie on todays Huskies Drive Time:
- Dirk -"Has all that jet leg rubbed off yet?"
- Not quite, He was up at 3:30 this morning so still adjusting after being overseas doing some recruiting
- We've gotten off to a great start, but we're going into a tough place to play
- We have a young lineup, time to prove we are a consistent hockey team
- We're excited, needed a break after all of the games
- We were not sharp in Madison last year, very injured, they were the best hockey team we played last year
- Team had Sun/Mon off last week, tried to heal up some bumps/bruises, worked on PP & PK
- We made some adjustments specifically for Wisc. series
- Want to improve on us giving up odd man rushes
On lineup:
- Happy with our lineup, no major changes, but there will still be changes
- Anthony Shcooley and Baker are still out with injuries, Dirk said something about Schooley still being injured and will be out for awhile
- Want ice time to be competative and earned by the players
- Genoe will start Friday
- Josh didn't have a good outing against Mankato, Genoe came in and got us the tie
On Wisc.
- Jamie hasn't seen any film on Wisc yet, assistants did alot of film work while Jamie was gone
- They are talented, lost a lot through grad. and NHL signings
- they always do a good job on PP/PK
-Need to make sure we get pucks on net during PP, big ice will change what we do on our PK
