New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

If they want Nunez they can have him. Hits well enough but doesn't walk and has no real power. I'm assuming that Romine would be the guy to be dealt. The Mariners are awful and the Yankees are going to go after Lee in the off-season anyhow. I'm guessing Cash's stance on this will be, "Why trade for him when we can just go after him in the off-season and keep the prospects?"

That said, if they did this - holy sh-t that would be awesome.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Wouldn't be a bad move to get Lee as both Javy and Pettitte are likely to retire after this season. Getting Lee in a trade this season solves replacing one of the two pitchers. The Yanks just drafted a SS in the first round so trading one of the minor league catchers and Nunez makes sense to get a CY Young Award winner.

They won't, but you're going to need one sooner rather than later, as Posada is 38 or 39, so you're on borrowed time right now. Assuming that they're reasonably comparable as it comes to how they would project as major leaguers, I'd trade Romine.

they also have cervelli who has been more than serviceable both offensively and defensively. if posada ever retired, i wouldnt mind seeing a combo along the lines of cervelli/molina until they can get one of those kids up.

seems likely that they would part with romine before montero. but if montero is such a coveted bat within the organization, will there be a push to move him to firstbase at some point?

the other thing is that so few teams are trading guys with ample time left on the contract, (usally its 1.5 years max) so cashman's theory might/should get put to the test here. not to mention, going after all the guys in free agency will continually block your prospects from coming up in the system, so you might as well trade away some of them!

pettitte's health is always a wild card as the season gets longer, and you just never know what you are getting with AJ or Javy, so i'm in favor of adding a workhorse like lee that has excelled consistently in both leagues.

nice to see the outfield back in full on the boxscore.. arod still out though. i wonder how many games they have played with the full 9 in the lineup

Good question. Yikes.

A-Rod looking like he'll DH tomorrow.

Headline: AJ Burnett singlehandedly lifts Phils out of their collective batting slump.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Yanks make a gameof it late but Jorgie Ks with men on 1st and 3rd. He could have tied the game with a dinger. Jorgie caught tonite and Arod DH'd. Rays lost so they stay tied for 1st.

You know you're in a funk when the US Men's soccer team outscores you.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Some late nights coming up with the team out west. CC and Hughes were spectacular over the weekend.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

AJ likely a DL candidate from neck whiplash? HR, HR, HR. At least he didn't have to cover first base.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

he is slowly becoming a disaster. bring me cliff lee!

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

We now have the Hughes Rules. Hughes will be skipped over his next start (Friday at LA) and will not pitch again for 9 days until the Yanks return home.

Chad Moeller was designated for assignment yesterday when Yanks brought up OF Colin Curtis.

CC is finding his groove and Burnett continues to get grooved.

Finally, Joe Torre's miserable handling of a bullpen works in favor of the Yankees.

Robbie Cano for MVP.

LOL, agreed. I have to say that was one of the best nonplayoff games I can remember in quite a while. I think that's the first time since 2007 that the Yanks have come back from 4 runs down in the 9th or later. It actually made up for having to listen to Joe Morgan for 3 hours. The Yanks inexperienced bench really came through in the clutch. Looking forward to my visit to the Bronx on Thursday.
