Jon Niese, Chris Capuano, and Mike Pelfrey should all see improved results, and R.A. Dickey figures to maintain his current rate of success. That's all good news. A few weeks ago, I wrote that Dillon Gee was for real so far because he had a 3.83 ERA, 3.94 FIP, and 4.05 xFIP. Now, Gee appears in line for some serious regression as his 2.86 ERA sits nearly a full run below his 3.83 xFIP.
First grand slam since August of '09.
And, first time over .500 since they were 3-2 after their game on April 6th.
I think at this point we'd all be happy to take an AJ Burnett 9-walk non-shutout no-no just to get the monkey off our back.7,807 games and still waiting for the opposition's R - H - E to look like 0-0-0
The 15 walks and 6 errors by the opposing team sure haven't hurt.If you're scoring at home, or even if you're alone, the Mets have scored 52 runs on 69 hits in the last 4 games.
I'm not going to get much work done this afternoon. Unstoppable force/immovable object.
First Mets no-hitter will be thrown by R.A. Dickey.
