New/Rented Movies : Pixar actually made a bad movie

Re: New/Rented Movies : Pixar actually made a bad movie

Really, 6 bucks a month is quite the price hike? I don't ever get DVDs from them, so I can change my plan to streaming only and the cost goes down by the insanely huge price of 2 dollars a month. I'll send you that 2 bucks a month if 6 dollars is going to break the bank for you. Now you just have to worry about where you're going to scrape together 4 bucks a month. I hope you don't starve.

No, 6 bucks a month isn't going to break me. But a service going from $9.99 a month to $15.98 a month? Pretty good price increase, percentage wise, and enough to make folks consider other options for similar services (amazon streaming, hulu, redbox, etc.). Sorry if my choice of words ("quite the price hike") ruffled your feathers.

For those of you with Netflix subscriptions, they've raised their rates by splitting the streaming and dvd plans (effective immediately for new customers, 9/1 for current customers). Now you're looking at $7.99 for streaming, plus $7.99 for a 1 dvd at a time plan. Quite the price hike.

I'm guessing the wife and I will switch over to streaming only - one of our DVD's has been sitting here for 3 months; the other, 2 weeks.

Exactly this. It's ~ a 40% increase. There should be some sort of a "if you subscribe to one service, you get the other for $X off." Even if it's a couple dollars (call it $7 for streaming and $5 for DVD's), they get their rate increase, but not a $6 increase. We are definitely canceling our DVD portion and moving to RedBox or the like for our new releases.

Ha! That's exactly what I said to my wife - our's has been sitting there for at least 3-4 weeks....

Finally saw Crazy Heart on HBO2 today.

Wow. Jeff Bridges really knocked that one out of the park.

I am on the 2 at a time plan and mine only goes up 2 bucks, 17/month to 19/month. The funny thing with this is that my brothers family, my mom, my sister and my ex all know my netflix password and use it to stream videos over the internet/wii. So there are 5 different "households" using this one account.

I've never seen the young lady in a movie, but I do like me some redheaded action...even if I'll never come within two states of her - or either of them. :)

It seemed that she was in the preview for every movie previewed before "Bad Teacher" so you will have lots of options coming up. I'm really looking forward to seeing her in "The Help" I think it was called. She was also pretty awesome in Zombieland

Perhaps you're ordering the wrong movies?

;)

Yep, Zombieland was quite the breakout role for her I think.

Yep, Zombieland was quite the breakout role for her I think.

She was originally slated to play 406 in the movie, but something went down and she was bumped up to Wichita. She was also going to have a big role in Sucker-Punch, but dropped out to do Easy A.

BTW, Amber Heard, who ended up being 406 is effing ridiculously gorgeous in most pictures I see her in. I believe she really does have a girlfriend.

I agree, loved it. Bateman and Day have always been favorites of mine, but Sudekis really came through. I think he's going to transition very well into movies.

I liked Bateman in Hancock, and then I saw some other recent stuff, and he plays THE SAME FRIGGIN' ANNOYING CHARACTER.

Re: New/Rented Movies : Pixar actually made a bad movie

This one is on the list to see along with Bad Teacher and Harry Potter.

Bad Teacher was so much more funny when your a teacher...because every "teacher" they protrayed is somoene on your staff.

On a side note....I see Dry Humping making a come back.

Really the little guy...i'm guessing his name is Day...made this movie. Sedakis was pretty awesome too, Bateman was there but he wasn't the focal point. I like Bateman alot, but he wasn't the reason I laughed my *** off here
