New/Rented Movies : Pixar actually made a bad movie

The Devil's Double

About the body double used for Uday Hussein. Dominic Cooper plays both Uday and the double, and is outstanding in the dual roles. Entertaining movie, for sure. As it was taken from the autobiography of the body double himself, I'm assuming that the story didn't need to be Hollywood-ized that much, given Uday's craziness. And man, he was psycho. Very much worth watching.

Mulholland Falls: shut it off halfway through. Terrible. Boring. Predictable. Horrible.

Re: New/Rented Movies : Pixar actually made a bad movie

I thought it was too over the top and it went way too far out of the way to tell the story. I don't have a problem with similar styles in general I just didn't think it worked overall.

Just realized that the girl with the dragon tattoo was also Erica Albright.

Looks a bit different, huh?

Edit: I did watch "Fearless" (Jet Li) tonight. Pretty good martial arts movie. Didn't know it was based on a real person. IMO, Jet would give Bruce a run for his money. I've seen a few Jet movies ("Fist Of Legend," a Bruce "Fist Of Fury" remake, is a personal fave), and man, that guy has some talent.

Tree of Life. Yowza.

It's basically a feature length montage with some of the most breathtaking cinematography you'll ever see. It's a little trying on your patience, but it is definitely an impressive piece of art.
I've heard it is great if you just ignore the actors. Haven't seen it yet -- it was apparently considered too "artistic" for the six local multiplexes.

I think this might be considered blashpemy as well.
The last half of Army of Darkness was already the blasphemy. This is just dumbing it down for Kidz Today.

It makes no sense not to have Ash even in cameo. They even had the perfect plot device for him: the Peter Graves recording role.

Can't wait to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with Gary Oldman. May not ever come close to the mini-series with Alec Guinness but que sera...

Guess this could go in the TV thread too... Even though its still like 2 weeks away I'm already looking forward to watching several hours of A Christmas Story this year.

Yearly tradition for me. The most I've done (consecutively) is about 8.5 hours. Overall, I'm pretty sure I've topped 14-15 hours of the 24 hour marathon. Best. Christmas. Movie. Ever.

I'm right there with you. It's one of the few things about Christmas I really enjoy.

Im sure there have been times where Ive said "I could watch this all day" about many movies. But in all honestly I have a feeling with most movies I would get bored during the second viewing, even if I was doing other stuff with the movie on in the background. But that just doesnt happen with A Christmas Story for some reason. Ive never been able to sit down and watch it more than twice in a row (because of other obiligations that take me away from a TV) but i probably watch at least 8 hours of it in the 24 hour marathon.

Yep, you are of the same attitude with me. Probably mouth/quote half the movie at least while watching it, too. :D

Someday, I will conquer the whole 24 hours. Someday.....

Yep. Lots of quoting.

Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra!

I could have made a run for 24 hours if it was yesterday. Drank a fair amount of coffee while I was watching TV and tying flies. Couldnt fall asleep for crap.
