That is a nicely done trailer right there :) Also this from Jimmy Kimmel...

Tracking numbers have it breaking the non-3D opening weekend record and I am guessing it will break some IMAX records as well. Quite the summer for comic movies/tv shows.

I watched The Change-Up last night, with low expectations. It was funnier than I thought it would be, but still not exactly a cinematic masterpiece. There were a few scenes where I actually laughed out loud, so I guess it would qualify as a good Saturday afternoon killer, or a late night post-drinking movie.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Have Mercy on Michael Bay's Soul, He Knows Not What He Does

I think we need a separate thread for the TDK because I am pretty sure something will slip and I have no plans to see the movie for at least a few weeks until after it opens.

Agreed, although I hope to see it opening weekend or so.

That would be a pretty good thought. I would love to see it opening night, but I think its mostly sold out, and I really don't have anybody that could go to a midnight showing like I used to. my usual partner in crime for that works mornings now, along with about everybody else I know. Maybe going later that opening weekend perhaps, that would be more ideal for me I think.

And I love nothing more than a dead theater. Less chance of cell phones, crying kids, d-bags, etc.

I got my tickets today for midnight :)

Agreed on the separate thread...

Depends on the movie. If it's a drama, yes. But if it's a comedy or an action film then the theater crowd makes it much better.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Have Mercy on Michael Bay's Soul, He Knows Not What He Does

I have been warned not to see Dark Knights Rises on opening night. Due to the film having parts shot in Pittsburgh. Meaning all the local yokels will be talking through the whole movie.

I saw Tron at the MN Zoo IMAX by myself. That was kind of nice. They also spared me the speech about how big the screen is.

Close second was seeing a 9:00 pm show of the VeggieTales movie. Just me, my gf, and another couple. Weird.

I plan on going to an 8:45am showing next Saturday. I've never been to a movie theater that early.

Yup. Figured it would be an empty theater so it would be easy to make out during the movie. We were right.

No, VeggieTales never made it in IMAX. Sure would have been something to see though.

Its kinda fun...the only thing is you will walk out of the theater completely confused about what time it is :D

I saw Avengers at like 930 AM on a Monday. It was very empty, that was probably more due to that it had been out for a few weeks, but I bet the early shows still have a better chance of being less full. Also at our theater the shows that early are like half the price.

I remember seeing Star Trek at the theatre on a Saturday morning when I was about five or six. I was so confused when we left and it was still light out. Of course, it was probably either the 2nd or 3rd movie I ever saw in a theater. (I know Star Wars was the first because I have been told about it, but I was 3 so I don't remember)

Saw Goon. Really enjoyed it other than the ankle scene. Was a good date-night movie.

Honestly, given how stiff the boots of hockey skates have become in the past 7 years, give or take, his bone would have to have been breaking a good inch or so above the joint. Add to that, you'd have to skate and crash really hard before a break that sever could even occur, and he just wasn't capable of doing that. (I know, it's a movie and I'm usually pretty good at the suspension of disbelief, but that part got me.)
