Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

Why would Warner Bros. let them do that?

I don't know if it's good or bad yet. I'm still surprised it happened in general.

They wouldn't unless Time Warner was going under...

I wonder if Joe Quesada will still rip into DC for selling out and being all corporate now that Marvel did the same thing. If Disney has control over the movies it could get real bad...lots of Disney fake endings for the upcoming films.

Disney wants to make money, and, I figure, as long as Marvel keeps making Disney money with their movies, Disney will take a more hands-off approach, like they do with Pixar.

Pixar has proven themselves a bit more than Marvel Movies has...and all it will take is an underperforming movie and they will be more hands on...Disney is throwing a ton of money into this I doubt they are just going to look the other way if they feel they can do things better. (they cant but this is Disney we are talking about)

On the plus side now DL can get the Hannah Montana comic he has been dreaming about ;)

What a thought! It's not like I just said the exact same thing.

:p

Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

No you said making money, I said underperforming there is a big difference. A movie can make money and be a disappointment and you know that. All it will take is one blockbuster to not do as well as it should and Disney could use that as an excuse. (if they even need one I doubt they stay hands off at all)

Really? I had no idea that was possible.

I didn't use those exact terms because I figured it was obvious enough that, like all studios, Disney wants movies to meet certain expectations and not just make a meager profit.

A steaming piece of crap that makes 600 million dollars is a success. Sorry.

That is great...what exactly does that have to do with what we are talking about? If a movie made 600 million it wouldn't be underperforming would it. Thanks for contributing nothing to the discussion ;)

So how a movie that makes money "under-perform?"
