New Hamphsire at Maine, Friday 12/10, CBSCS

Re: New Hamphsire at Maine, Friday 12/10, CBSCS

Was that semifinal game by Ayers the worst ever played by a division one goaltender? Discuss.

Yes. Continue discussion.

On a similar note, I hear Richard (Dick) is calling Digorno the next Chris Terreri. Discuss

Pretty tough to keep your trash talking about hockey when you're a UNH fan, isn't it?

Not really. I know every year that UNH is going to field a quality team that has a chance to win it all. For you it's a crapshoot at best. The 2 teeth thing is just a bonus for me.

Yeah, having 2 teeth would be a bonus for you

I don't know what it is. . . . probably just old.

These games are fun, and '99 is a whole lot more recent than Pellerin and Roy v McEachern and Amonte, but they still don't get the blood boiling like BU. :(

/get off my lawn!

And I'd say I can be pretty certain Umile will choke every spring. :D

History this, History that....who gives a crap what happened with guys who've long since graduated? Those banners ain't gonna skate tonight, and they've been sitting up in those rafters on their lonesome for quite some time.

This ain't gonna be a cakewalk for either team: UNH is on a roll and Maine has been dominant at Alfonse ;). Should be a good game.

(1999 smileys)

I'd much rather be a fan of a team that's never won it all, but gives me the hope every year that they could, than constantly reliving glories of something that happened 11 years ago. I'd much rather go into each year knowing that my team is almost certainly going to be in the big dance than starting and posting "Fire Timmay" threads, moaning about what a crap team they are and questioning whether they will or should exist after the end of the season.

Of course I am a Phillies fan....:D

1) 2 is soooo much better than nothing, no matter when it occured. NC's never die.
2) Pretty sure you'll find that in the Corkum era, every Maine fan has renewed hope for #3 at some point.
3) With Umile in charge.........well, good luck with that one :D
4) With ur record in the big dance, I'm not sure I'd wanna be there every year. :D:D

When was the last time UNH was in the Frozen Four again? 2003? Maine's been to 3 since then....and Maine's played in two NC games since UNH last did in 03, too. So who's actually been closer to hope of really winning it all?

Can't disagree with you on #1.
#2: I would hope every collegiate hockey team hopes for a national championship "at some point." Doesn't matter how many you have.
#3 and #4 are a bit redundant, wouldn't you say? Still, we DO want to be there every year, and have been fortunate to make the NCAAs for, what, 9 years running? We'll take our chances. You can't win it if you ain't in it. (I'm already anticipating the "You can't win it if you're UNH, or have Umile as your coach, blah blah blah" nonsnse.)

Of course, it's been a while -- 3 years and running -- since Maine qualified for the NCAAs...any particular reason why?
