New England Prep 2009-2010

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Gunnery vs Canterbury tie, 1-1

Close game and refs were awful calling little to none, including the Gunnery goal scored in overtime that was called off because it was "kicked in", though that didn't make a difference when the Gunnery defense accidently kicked the Canterbury goal in.

Who paid them off

I take it, it wasn't the "Crease Police"? :p

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

refs were horrible......non calls... including Gunnery goalie over red line celebrating non goal in o.t. refs swallowed whistles 1st period.called game like they were double parked

I agree with you about the non calls, but this is a serious question, is it supposed to be a call for the goalie in that situation? It looked like a goal and the music was playing, you can't really blame a goalie for being excited on winning. The only goal Canterbury actually scored was off the goalies pass that knocked off the defenses foot and went in, no matter what the turn out of the game, the goalie's only mistake was that pass. They're kids and they're playing hockey, something they love. Let it be.

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Tabor 4, BB&N 0
Hiller with the shutout, Craig and Frade each with a goal and two assists.

Go Seawolves!!

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Brewster 4 Rivers 0

Any thoughts on how the rankings might look at this stage? Seems like Choate, Nobles, Governor's, LA, and Brewster are all doing very well so far. Any others come to mind?

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Here are the top 8 in Division 1 according to their published records ONLY against Division 1 teams.

Choate ................. 8-0-1
Williston-Northampton... 6-1-0
Brewster Academy........ 8-1-1
Westminster............. 6-1-1
Noble & Greenough....... 7-1-3
Lawrence................ 5-1-2
Berkshire............... 8-4-0
Tabor................... 7-4-1

Tomorrow's Lawrence-Nobles game should be a dandy. Lawrence is definitely a serious contender. Berkshire and Tabor both have a good chance to be in the field of 8 a few short weeks from now.

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Great game tonight as Nobles edges Lawrence, 1-0.

First period was pretty balanced, with perhaps a slight edge to Lawrence in shots and time of offensive zone possession, but that would change for the latter two periods.

I was very impressed with the Field/Simpson combo for Lawrence. Great players....clearly great athletes in general. The only thing stopping these two quality forwards was the elite squad of blue liners that Nobles boasts, not to mention a very clean performance by Ms. Blake.

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Another good game Middlesex 1 Southfield 1.

Middlesex record (2-6-2) is not really a reflection an easy team... tough schedule as always. Losses against D1 Nobles, Lawrence, BBN and Holderness 2-1. D2 losses against Governors 3-1, Rivers 3-2 on OT. Ties against St. Marks and Southfield.

NYA 6 Proctor 2

Nobles 3 Cushing 0 Once again the girls step up without their leading scorer as Denna Laing was again out with a concussion. Marissa Gedman played after being hospitalized with an elbow infection the night before. Great all around effort.
