Re: NCAA Quarterfinal Thread: Elmira vs Oswego State
What can I say that hasn't already been said? In the first two periods Oswego had a lot of good chances that didn't go but once they got up by two it was a different game. Oswego followed up Singletons goal by killing a 5 on 3 which included a shorthanded goal by Boots. Elmira was beaten at that point and even though they played right to the final whistle they just didn't have anything left.
Hare made a couple of real good saves and was just solid and focused all night. When he plays like that Oswego is very tough to beat as they just draw off his confidence and it allows them to settle down and just let it flow. I think he is definitely one of the most underrated goalies in D3 and he gets overlooked because of Oswego's team but he is a big part of their success.
Elmira had a few players that really played hard all night but they just seemed like they collectively lacked that killer instinct to just get in there and will a goal in. Boots did just that on Oswego's first goal and Elmira just stood around and let him do it.
