Ok what do we know about Elmiras netminders, it looks like there have been a couple?? Do they have a steady starter,like we have Hare?? I do see that they have 10 seniors,who have talent.....we have 14jr's as well.......ok well just cheked the stats, they dont have a goalie in ANY of the top catagories, and are ranked 30th in team defense,,,,,,,anymore info??

As you mentioned, they've also got 10 seniors who I'm sure aren't ready to lace up their skates for the final time quite yet and will be doing EVERYTHING in their power to prevent that from happening. Seniors in that frame of mind can be a tough matchup. Look at Neumann in 2009 and Adrian last year.

Those teams also entered the NCAA's on a hot streak, and played opponents that were fairly unfamiliar with them, plus the senior class had been building towards a contender for four years. The same cannot be said for Elmira, not saying they have no chance, just they don't have the look of a team on the verge of something great. They have been streaky this season and they look to be on a down stretch at the moment. Obviously they don't want to finish their careers just yet but Oswego should have a lot of motivation going into the game as well and if they match Elmira's intensity it will come down to who has more talent and I think Oswego gets the edge there.

EC in a nutshell
They play brilliantly one period, and come out and lay eggs the next. When they'd score first - usually very early in a game - they would inevitably manage to lose; sustained effort is not their trademark. The power play is not very good, and they take waaaaaaayyy too many selfish penalties.
Offensive creativity is lacking as evidenced by the 55 shot / 1 goal performance at Kreitzburg. I was so disgusted after the Hobart loss, I skipped the Utica game, and I've been at 98% of home games since the pristine Domes opened in 1973.
That being said, I booked a room at Devlin's and will soon make my third / 3rd / IIIrd / tres'rd trip to champy quadrangle this season. Eternal optimism that someone on the team will grow a sack in the next 5 days.

Read through the Elmira thread. In a nutshell, EC has a ton of talent, in fact, I requested the final four weekend off the Monday after their first game. When Burnell (their best freshman) went out with a wrist injury, the team sleepwalked through the remainder of the season.

Nice. I stayed at Devlin a few years ago. You wouldn't think so by driving by, but it's one of the nicest places to stay in town. A friend stayed at the Northwood Inn (I think that was the name). He said it was the biggest dump he had ever stayed in. Looks decent from the outside, but he said the entire inside of the building smelled like a dead animal. Avoid that place like the plague!
Lou, any idea if WTOP will have a skeleton crew on hand for TV/web this weekend?

I can confirm the above quote as I got it as well...it will be a skinny show - a very skinny show, but I expect they will pull it together and be on the air...It will be a combination of current students, WTOP recent alums and some local friends and family....

I will be enjoying the coverage of WNYO and WTOP on Saturday night...which explains why I have been recruiting crew nonstop since the bracket was announced Sunday
It was much easier to "drop by" when it was 4 hours and change in the car from CT...

Well try again,the system is running and you shouldnt have any trouble getting tix in sec 53, I put in 2 for that section and it came up no problem.......plus when you go to the game you should be able to move seats as the students are on break and so there will be a few empty seats I should think

Section 53 is among the assigned seating - so you wont get past the ushers. I was happy with my section 54 seats, just an aisle away from 53 - but get there early - they are FCFS!!!!

WTOP will be at full strength for Saturday's game - a mix of current and former students will be producing Hockey Night In Oswego...WNYO will be producing the radio version (on the internet and on the radio).

I called for 7 tickets around 10:30. The whole transaction took ~10 minutes. They were busy, sounded like a call center in the background. The girl on the phone was very nice when she explained to me that section 51 was being reserved for visitors.

That's interesting. Last week all of the Platty fans were in the section right behind their bench. Would would they not sell tickets on that section?
Besides, if you're in section 51, you'll be at the end where your team shoots twice. There really isn't a bad seat in the CC.
