NCAA Hockey - 2023/24 **Insert Witty Tagline**

The #8 Cornell women are playing 20 minutes from my house today against #4 Minnesota, and I just can't; do not have any interest.

I suck.

Yeah, you do. You especially suck when considering everything after that comma. It made my head hurt.

My edits are bad (now fixed). I had initially written "I just can't get up the interest" and then thought maybe that's not the right wording.

I didn’t realize the CCHA is having a rough year.

On one hand: Huh.
On the other hand: AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The ECAC didn’t plunge a knife into my team and try to kill it.

FTR CCHA peeps, I like all of you personally but I hope your programs suffer endlessly.

Waaaaaaay ahead of you on that one. My team hasn't had notable success since rejoining the CCHA in 1997.

In fairness, about UAA, they would not be anywhere near as good if it wasn’t for the transfer portal. For UAA, the transfer portal has been a fundamental game changer.

This play (start 1:13:11) is a prime example of what I hate about hockey officiating (and especially college hockey officiating).

UAF #4 clearly starts the whole scuffle by going after UAA #79 after the whistle and yet is only given two minutes. UAA is already getting a five minute penalty so there’s no need to do it. If UAF gets upset that they end up with a five as well you tell them tough s-, let me handle it next time. Stop trying to bend things to a conclusion you feel is equitable and this s- won’t happen.

Why does #4 deserve more than 2? He never threw anything close to a punch at any moment that is visible in that that video.

Soo im thinking the Ohio state player who speared a gopher on the bench in front of the ref might be getting an additional suspension?

unrelated, on the college hockey sub on Reddit, someone asked why so fewer Massachusetts residents are populating college hockey teams.

the answers were interesting and like many things in life, there’s often multiple factors.

I’ve heard many MA hockey people lament over the years that the reason why MN has left them in the dust from a development factor was because of minnesotas emphasis on community hockey where as MA emphasizes prep hockey. But I didn’t realize that MA ended up privatizing many of their ice rinks???

that makes me so sad. I cannot imagine our rinks being privatized to get more profit and it better not ever happen here. Hockey is already exclusionary for cost. Heck my city just approved a tax levy for another indoor rink at the local arena and we already have multiple- but the sheer amount of girl and boys youth teams mean we need more ice.
