NCAA Hockey - 2023/24 **Insert Witty Tagline**

I'm preparing to pull a seat and a bottle up to the F* Hockey table... Just once I'd like NMU to hit the ground running.

Being a team that historically peaks late season is nice, but I'd like to occasionally cash in on preseason hype...

Seeing them in person this weekend is frustrating. (Made a quick getaway for the weekend.) Slow, uninspired, uncoordinated, can't pass, can't hit, more turnovers than Babycakes. It's.... something.

When a friend at the game was catching me up (we hadn't been to a game in a few years) and said the same, I commented "oh, so it's like nothings changed." He laughed, sighed, and said yep.

So far on the weekend:

#1 Minnesota got swept at home by #14 Wisconsin.
#2 Denver tied at home against start-up Augustana yesterday. The Pios up on Air Force 2-0 early in the 3rd period tonight.
#3 Boston College swept #8 Michigan State.
#4 North Dakota beat Minnesota State 6-2 on Friday, and tied the Mavericks 2-2 tonight.
#5 Quinnipiac lost in overtime to Maine on Friday, but enacted revenge this evening, with the Bobcats getting the 4-1 victory.
#6 Michigan snuck by Lindenwood 9-1 in the first game of the series, and edged the Lions 10-1 in the series capper.
#7 Providence beat Vermont 4-1 last night, and the Friars and Catamounts skated to a 2-2 tie tonight, with Vermont picking up the shootout victory.
#9 BU knocked off #19 Massachusetts 5-2 at home on Friday. The Minutemen and the Terriers tied this evening 3-3 (BU picking up the shootout victory).

Updated...

Some big matchups next weekend:
Michigan and Wisconsin will meet up for a series in Madison that will likely feature two Top 10 teams.
Same goes for BU and North Dakota, as the Hawks make their way to Boston to skate with the Terriers.
Anchorage and Fairbanks renew their rivalry for the first of six matchups this season.

Good on them.

It's one of those things that is a freak accident, but also common enough to come up every couple of years. I'm all for it becoming mandated equipment.

I'm just impressed with how there are only 64 teams and yet with last night's loss to the Tommies, my Wildcats are 67th, behind Bobby Mo, Stoneville, Justin Fields, and the 2017 Cleveland Browns.

[/Sarcasm, kinda]

Order is restored to the universe.

St. Paul in April baby!

speaking of that, as a season ticket holder of the host team I was able to get 8 lower level face value tickets. Seems dicey if they’ll be there but if not, I’ll have extras to sell. East coasters will be getting a better deal than sconnies or nodaks

Meanwhile, my team finally won a game last night on their 8th try this season. So perhaps the cultural turmoil is settling down after a recent roster subtraction.

How did the Top 10 fair this weekend?

#1 Boston College won a pair of 3-2 games in a home-and-home series against Massachusetts-Lowell
#2 Denver swept a home-and-home series against rival Colorado College, outscoring the Tigers 11-2 on the weekend.
#3 North Dakota split with #9 Boston University in Boston, dropping the opener 3-2 before responding with a 5-4 OT win on Saturday.
#4 Michigan was swept by #5 Wisconsin, losing a pair of one-goal games at the Kohl Center.
#6 Minnesota skated away with a home win and road tie against #14 Minnesota Duluth.
#7 Providence took 5 of 6 points against #15 New Hampshire, winning at home on Saturday after the Friars and Wildcats played to a 1-1 draw (with the Friars taking the extra SO point) at the Whit.
#8 Quinnipiac tied with Dartmouth on Friday (but dropped the SO to the Big Green), before handily dispatching #19 Harvard 6-0 last night.
#10 Cornell won two road games, edging Yale 3-1 on Friday and then dropping Brown 7-1 on Saturday night.

Lmao Arizona state hung a banner for 2019-2020 ncaa tournament. Not sure exactly when they did it but a picture of it was recently posted to Reddit

There were fans who wanted us to hang a banner at Lynah because we were #1 when the Pox Nix happened.

The rest of us told them to look at the 67 and 70 banners and be patient.
