NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

So Phil Jackson has 11 rings now. He is out of space on his hands. Where is he going to put the next one?

The mythical third thumb that you get when you reach Nirvana.

The only real reason for me to want to see the Lakers win any more titles is so Phil can learn to levitate.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

I've calmed down a bit today.

Despite the fact that the game was officiated differently in the fourth than it was in the rest of the game, the C's had their chance, but they just kept missing shots.

Still, I would like to see David Stern's house nuked from orbit and the ground salted so nothing grows there again. But I'll yield to the city of Seattle.

I knew as soon as the lead changed it was over. They had 'em by 13 in the third and couldn't maintain it.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

That is great...

I'd just love to know how you could possibly play with the Big Three and win a title and somehow think that coming on the radio babbling incoherently about your son (who did NOTHING in the Finals) is in any way going to be tolerated. I hope McHale closelines him like Rambis the next time they meet.

Screw professionalism.

http://985thesportshub.cbslocal.com/2010/06/18/phone-problems-with-bill-walton/

Why didn't someone convince Bill Walton to reschedule this interview? And why in Hades does he go on like that anyways? I would have to work really really hard to be that pompous...

Toucher and Rich's reaction to the fallout has been awesome. I listened to them yesterday on my way to a job interview yesterday. I can't believe that Walton though that he was going to get away with those kind of shennanigans (or SENANICANS...maybe he was drunk!?). And if you listen to their defence, they were being professional. Their job is to entertain their core audience and provide insight into sports. Walton coming on and talking about how great the Lakers are the day after the game certainly isn't entertaining to the audience and would cause loss of revenue from people tuning out (I imagine - not sure how that works exactly). They were doing their jobs as radio hosts.

I'm just glad they aren't getting in trouble. Walton was on to pitch a product and he really didn't come close to starting. He did the LA is awesome thing on a Boston station and didn't even attempt to discuss the game. His criticism that the Celtics lost because they couldn't win three games in a row at home was ludicrous.

They lost because of the Perkins injury and their inability to hit shots in the last 20 minutes of Game Seven. And David Stern runs the NBA. The end.

Yup. And he was even asked about the game, said he wouldn't answer, and then started raving about the his son/the Lakers.

ewe's point about the listeners is spot-on, as well. The last thing most Boston sports fans wanted to hear that morning was how great the Lakers are.

The Celts lost because the Lakers are better, that and the NBA loves Kobe. Perk being out hurt for sure but the Celts rolling over in game 6 is all you really needed to know about the Celts. Old and no one to go to when it matters.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

ESPN reporting that sources say the Bulls have a deal in place with the Wizards to sent the 17th overall pick and Hinrich to Washington for terms to be named later.

It's a salary cap move by Chicago and getting Hinrich off the books gives them the ability to go after two of the blockbuster free agents.

LeBron and Bosh/Stoudemire?

Hello contenders!:)

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

I'll take this as a Pistons fan. I was convinced we were drafting a 35th small forward for our roster.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Who were the Timberpuppies supposed to draft? It's not their fault that they defy all probability and always get the first pick after all the elite players are gone.

A number of experts thought they should have taken Cousins (who went 5th).
