NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Looks like Celtics don't get #18 now. That was the game for them to win and whoops, they don't show up. I will say, if you're going to get beat might as well get hammered and maybe you'll have some pride for game 7.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Celtics have been hammered in one game each of the last 3 rounds now and they always came back with a win.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Part of me wanted to see them start a giant brawl after the game. But that would have been so insanely stupid that I amended that wish to hoping there was a giant brawl in the locker room where they beat the crap out of themselves for playing like absolute crap.

As an extremely casual observer (meaning I really only follow scores, don't really watch), Doc Rivers seems like he is great at making adjustments. I could be wrong, but I think he'll have the C's ready for Thursday night.

um, didn't your dean of students film a bit about winning the NC and the HAA celebration or something?!?!?:D :D  :D :D

Yes, but no one knew about it till they released the video after the championship was won. Unlike here when they announced they were planning for a celebration before the game started.

From what I hear, Perk is done for the year. That will hurt for sure. Big Baby and Wallace need to shine if the Celts are to have any chance tonight

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

This a boring awful game because it's low scoring, right? Or is that only the case if it's smaller markets like Detroit and San Antonio but it's OK if it's bigger ones?

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Ballgame.

Artest hits a 3 with a minute to go.

Hmmm, then Allen hits one. Lakers by 3.

Yeah, still, over. I have to say, I thought they would get smoked by LA, not have it go 7 and down to the wire like this.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

what an awful sport. The refs can basically control the game by doling out these fouls at will.

I don't watch this sport often, and I can see why.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Can we please stop pretending David Stern and company are anything other than the Kobe fan club? Even the announcers are five seconds from going down on him in center court.

Yeah, I've watched it as it's game 7 of the finals after all. I'm less than impressed, and I loved this league when I was a kid. Give me Duke-Butler any day over this NASCAR-WWE stepchild.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

I give the C's credit for fighting. It’s disappointing, but it looked like the better team won (barely).

My only regret is that the Lakers showed throughout Game 7 that they could choke, just like so many Lakers teams folded up against Boston in the past, and if the Celtics had only been able to win Game 3 (and they could have with a decent effort) then they’d have really turned the screws on LA. But they came up so small in that game, and after that the Lakers were always going to have a level of comfort in the series.

That's why Game 3 was the series. Because the names change but the Lakers are the greatest runners-up in the history of sports -- front-runners who will fold if the right mix of champions pushes them. Boston needed to win that game to really make them feel it, and Ray Allen couldn't hit anything, and they didn't get the key stops, and they just didn't have it in them. That was their chance. And so the Lakers are deserving champions, for sure. :(
