My Money's on the team in Green... MSU @ NMU Dec 4/5

Re: My Money's on the team in Green... MSU @ NMU Dec 4/5

I thought arrogance was a Michigan thing.

Must be nice to have a Big10 budget.

We love flying to our destinations just to spit in the face and mock the fans of the opposition.

Comley told me about it. He knows how it really riles you guys up.

Oh crap, i got quoted before i altered my post to make it a tad less abrasive.

EDIT: I went back and changed back to its original content to save myself the embarrassment, guise. Don't worry.

And it's a safety school. Safely awesome!

How can you mock the opposition when State is a safety school? :p

Oh yes - if you can't get into Michigan ... the old Ag school argument. You really wanted to go there?
Do you REALLY want me to quote relative ACT's and acceptance rates betw. MSU and the host school this weekend? My apologies to everyone else, but you started it

Given that he's a Tech fan make your comparison with that.

No need to discuss NMU vs. State academics. I'd much rather discuss the recent success of NMU vs. MSU.

Rick Comley's press conference is up for viewing at msuspartans.com

So, the lunch party is a circus, Comley is upset that they cant practice up here at all with the basketball situation at the Berry, he would take Olver over any player in the CCHA, and he jokes that Stewie has been pulled more than any other goalie in the nation.

Apples to Oranges argument anyway I admit, but there I am sticking up for my school - even with the 2nd lowest academic ranking in the Big 10.

But on the subject of hockey, it looks to me there's a couple prolific scorers for NMU flying under the radar, they've been deadly against MSU the last 3 seasons at home, and there's some debate about who should be in goal.

As for us, the rest of the league + some WCHA heavyweights realized how much better MSU is this season and we can't sneak up on anyone anymore, as was the case in weeks 3 - 6. Freshmen now really need to play on a higher level. Eliminate mistakes and be more alert and sharper on the power play and good things can start happening again.

I like an even split of 6 points this weekend - whether by conventional means or shootout(s).

Breaking News from the Lunch Party: Olver is out this weekend with an injury.

Palmissano was playing out of his mind, but showed he was human. Hopefully the Cats can find whatever made that happen and replicate it. Goalie situation may turn interesting if Stewie is in Friday and struggles. NMU does turn up the offensive power against State and if Olver is out, they may come in wanting to prove they can do it without him. Of course, they may press too hard with new line combos.

So that means Smith, Butcher, and Olver out? Freshmen will need to step out. K. Kaunisto looks to get some time this weekend. Here's guessing his first goal comes this weekend with the playing time.

We are going to need someone to step up big time. I was originally thinking sweep, but I'll change that to a split if the best player from both teams is out this weekend.

I'd gladly trade Olver and Stewart to Comley this season if we can get Corey Tropp, Derek Grant, Andrew Sinelli (2010), and Austin Czarnik (2011)
:p

And boo-hoo to him not being able to practice on the big sheet. He's the one who helped get the Berry built.

I'd veto that trade if I thought Czarnik had more than 50/50 chance of wearing Green & White, or Tropp would be around next year.

So has Cherniwchan hit a wall, or ... ?

Minus the penalties this guy takes, he is a decent team player

With Smith, Butcher and now Olver out the Cats will be lucky to get a split. That's just too many key guys out to overcome.:(
