Movies: Poor Things, Barbie and Oppenheimer are stuck in La La Land

Went to see The Accountant 2 today. Enjoyed the first one, and this was pretty good 2. Couldn't figure out where I'd seen Jon Bernthal(he played Affleck's brother)before until I looked him up when I got home and found out he was in Fury(one of my top 10 war movies).

For me it is:
1. Shane - The Walking Dead
2. Frank Castle - The Punisher (TV Series)
3. Lee Iacocca - Ford v Ferrari

I always wanted a movie with him and Fred Ward, in which Fred is his dad. Because duh.
I forgot his role in wolf of wall st (lol) and Mikey in the Bear.

Wind River also, so good.
But early season the walking dead is still an all timer

In the first movie, the female character does the exact job my wife does. My wife declared her to be my wife's all time favorite movie character.

Impossible Missions.

Great film in Imax, great ending to Mr. Cruise's franchise. I love the way they did the story. Action sequences were sick. Great night at the Movies. It's what summer blockbusters are all about.

Really? I found it to be rather stupid and overly long and probably in my top two worst of the franchise. the action was awesome but you can tell this was a film that had writers strike issues.

I expect a story that makes some semblance of sense...even if I have to stretch out so thin I almost break. The first 20 minutes of the film was so all over the place it was crazy. And 90% of the film is people in rooms, having discussions for minutes on end, then someone running somewhere, then maybe an explosion, then more running! Oh and of course the misplaced site gags and weak jokes that needed serious punching up.

And the crazy thing is, with all of those scenes or just talking...almost nothing of value is said. Its one person giving Ethan Hunt grief, he has a monologue, they change their mind for some reason and Ethan goes running!

The problem is that amongst the last 2 films there is about 4 hours of a great film in there. Too much for one film but way too little for 2.

Its not like an F or anything...but it is definitely barely in the passing category. The biplane scene is enough to give it a passing grade and the nods to the first film...but it needed about 45 minutes taken out so the action was more evenly spaced.
