I also thought she was adorable in adventures in babysitting and cocktail.

Def cute. But again....

kepler gets half credit. Mookie saw the cobra Kai thing on Netflix and realized if he does start that up he should have a base.

certain the 35yr delay put mookie out of the demographic too!!

interesting that Johnny dude is also the evil diving villain Chas in back to school. Those are two high profile roles for odd sports bad guys :D Mookie would bet there is no comparison in film to cover this.

Are we sure he isn't on the frat team in Breaking Away?

Craig Sheffer (Some Kind of Wonderful maybe 1 more?) or James Spader (Pretty In Pink, Less Than Zrero)?

Johnny (Billy Zapka) is also the dbag jock in Just One of the Guys!

He had the perfect look. I can imagine every '80s teen movie director yelling into the phone, "GET ME BILLY ZAPKA!"

Fun fact: he is an Oscar nominee. For writing!

He sounds like he might be similar to Michael McKean.

I went to the theater and saw Tenet and I have 2 comments:

1) If you want to see it see it in the theater. It wont be as good on TV I dont think...

2) It is not a great film. It is 3/4 of a great film with 1/4 of it just being boring and or stupid. This is almost like someone trying to ape a Nolan film using all of his normal tropes and then taking it a step too far. It is very disjointed which I think is on purpose (temporal stories tend to be all over the place) but it just makes the film hard to follow and makes the ending rather unsatisfying. Since I dont have to pay for it I might try seeing it again knowing how it all plays out and see if it works better but as of now it is probably my least favorite film by him.

(yes Kepler we all know)

I had a different experience. I loved it. From beginning to end. I didn't find any of it boring or stupid. There was a two tier "ending" so to speak. One tier was fantastic the other was, kind of meh.

I loved it though. Very cool movie.

Yeah the ending is kind of part of why I think if I see it again I might have a different view. I also feel like if I had 20 friends that saw it and discussed it ad nauseum I would feel different as well. I think for me this is the type of movie I need to think about and dissect.

They have max capacity (40% I think) with assigned seats. There is at least 1 seat left open between groups and masks must be worn at all times unless eating.

Still, it's a public space where the residual grossness from others' presence is going to aggregate over time.

Survey says: unsafe.

Yeah is there much air circulation in there?
i won’t do restaurants but I’m sure as hell not doing. Theater for two hours

Well I cant speak to all theaters...but when you sit in a 200 seat IMAX with like 20 people all spread out it aint so bad. Plus they clean it much better than they used to.

As for the air circulation that I dont know but since I wore my mask the whole time I should be fine. Plus I have sani.

I feel less crowded and cleaner at the thater than I do most grocery stores where you know everything has been handled by multiple people and social distancing is hit or miss. (let alone masks)

All that comes to mind is, "but why"?

Why would you expose yourself to risk at all?

This is simply a difference in what fun dudes like Schiller called "Weltanschauung" and which we don't really have a word for. It's "the-stuff-you-don't-even-think-about-that-is-implied-by-your-unconscious-actions-in-the-world."

I don't get why anybody would expose themselves for anything they didn't absolutely have to. There's a rattlesnake in the cupboard. My insulin is in the cupboard, ok, I'll risk it. Oreos? Prolly not.

Because I am not 60 years old and sometimes need something to do that doesn't involve sitting in my basement or walking/running around my neighborhood or shopping. (the 60 year old thing isnt about COVID fear...it is about being lame ;-) ) There is no more risk going to the movie theater than there is going pretty much anywhere else. If I can go sit at a Mexican restaurant that is filled to allowed capacity with literally everyone without masks cause they are eating (which I did last Friday not by my choice) I can sit in a mostly empty theater in a row all by myself with a mask on and feel normal for a couple of hours. The risk is minimal because I am taking the proper precautions.

To use your analogy, I have a heavy bite-proof gloves so give me some damned Oreos!! ;-)

On another topic...

Everyone...AND I DO MEAN EVERYONE...should watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix. Good god it is scary how bad social media has screwed people up.
