Saw that! I was debating about watching that or watching Get On Up. I’ve seen Black Panther and 42 and Marshall (which was excellent btw) so figured I’d watch the one I didn’t see.

I hate superhero movies but like this one. Always have. What an iconic role for him. And how incredible for millions of black children to see someone who looks like them.

Borg Mcenroe. It wasn't great but I liked it enough and the dude that played Borg looked so much like him I completely forgot at times it's an actor not the real deal. I also thought they did very nice job with recreating the play on the court. Everything from the crowd, to the racquets, their uniforms and the actual play was covered off quite well.

Interesting that they didn't use an actual ball in most scenes, but rather a metronome to simulate the bouncing of the ball and enabling the actors to time their steps, swing the racquet at the right time, the crowd following the movement of the ball, etc.

The Frozen Ground on Netflix. Based on Alaskan serial killer Robert Hansen. Came out in 2013 but I'd never heard of it until I came across it today. Nicolas Cage, John Cusak, Vanessa Hudgens to name a few. We liked it.

I went to the theater and saw Tenet and I have 2 comments:

1) If you want to see it see it in the theater. It wont be as good on TV I dont think...

2) It is not a great film. It is 3/4 of a great film with 1/4 of it just being boring and or stupid. This is almost like someone trying to ape a Nolan film using all of his normal tropes and then taking it a step too far. It is very disjointed which I think is on purpose (temporal stories tend to be all over the place) but it just makes the film hard to follow and makes the ending rather unsatisfying. Since I dont have to pay for it I might try seeing it again knowing how it all plays out and see if it works better but as of now it is probably my least favorite film by him.

(yes Kepler we all know)

Saw Killerman on the plane. Predictable

started knives out. Fell asleep 40m into it and want to finish.
seems like an interesting end as “it” in part was explained already.
great cast.

easy to forget how good don johnson can be in these type roles.

So I watched Tread on Netflix last night. Pretty entertaining movie, even though the events are well known.

It's a documentary about the guy living in a small Colorado town who concluded the City power structure was out to get him, so he bought a bulldozer and modified it into a Killdozer, then went on a rampage throughout town. The filmmakers were able to get interviews with many of the participants. That, coupled with actual news footage of the event, made it a pretty captivating watch.

I have this on my list. Good to know they pulled it off. Thanks.

Mookie went and watched karate kid for the first time.

was Elizabeth shue somebodies daughter? (Well obviously yah, but...)

between this and cocktail those are two decent roles. And while mookie has no problem rolling a chubby, shue wasn’t exactly a Hollywood hottie.

I'd like to think I am responsible for this.

Elizabeth Shue in Karate Kid looks exactly like my high school girlfriend. The whole point is she's not a hottie, she's a completely believable pretty girl in an 80s high school.

I smell nice and I don't put out

I don't know if you were in the target demo, but they nailed it with her casting.
