My god, how could you stand to watch them? The first Taken is one of the 10 most boring movies I've ever watched (obviously it's also amazingly stupid but I understand that is not relevant to enjoying it). Do they get any better?

There's likely a 0% chance it ever happens, but I'd like to see them remake the 3rd trilogy. That's how much I really enjoy that universe but despise those movies on the whole.

They should have ended the trilogy after the telephone conversation in movie one between the kidnapper and Liam Neeson, immediately after his daughter was taken. It was all downhill after that.

LOL. This is exactly right.

"I have special skills." Roll credits.

Dunno....
In 3 when mills tries to show off and ask the last dude from the truck that pushed his car over the cliff who he worked for in Russian, and the dude says “your accent is chit!”, mookie laughed

7 is just Abrams making his version of A New Hope. 8 is...ummm...well the answer to that depends on whether it connects with you or not ;^)

Maybe one day if I get super bored I will watch that trilogy again. Maybe it will click more. (it sometimes happens) As it is it annoys me that Di$ney killed Star Wars for me.

And I never saw Taken 3 but 1 was good. 2 was a train wreck but fun at least...

I like Lost in Translation, I would never put it in my top 10 or even 20 though. Bill Murray is A+ though and Coppola directs the hell out of it.

crank

transporter in a disjointed film about being poisoned and the only way to counter act it, is to get a rush.

scarface

so iconic that 'say hello to my little friend' resurfaced in wedding crashers 20 yrs later. music is awful.

VII was OK, it was good to see the old gang back and I liked the interaction of the new trio of characters. Plot was a bit of a rehash but hey they need time to get going.
VIII was OK too. The casino planet was total prequel-level crap and drops the movie down a whole letter grade. The rest though I liked somewhat, though it did take a different feel from the previous movies.
IX was just bad. I mean, they just completely threw in stuff completely unrelated to the previous two. While I didn't think VII and VIII were as good as the original trilogy, I was at least interested to see where they were going when I was watching. IX I just wanted to end. It felt bad to be that checked-out of a SW movie.

Agreed, particularly the bolded sentence. IX could've been salvaged with a more interesting climax/conclusion, but they got lazy and farted it out for easy money.

I don't know how any ending could salvage a movie that opens up "oh btw emperor's alive and he has eleventy billion spaceships".

yup. I liked 7-9. Ymmv.

I enjoyed taken, 2 and 3 were decent OnDemand rainy afternoon movies.

I liked lost in translation but totally agree. It's going to be one of those movies where it's top 5, an excellent movie, or it totally sucks. I don't think I've seen anyone who thought it was ok or even above average. You hate it, you love it, or it was life changingly good. :-)

Boondock saints

mookie hasn’t watched in years so worth a replay. Still pretty dam good. Defoe is hilarious

Don't watch 2. It's probably the worst movie I have ever seen. And not in a cheeky Buckaroo way, more like, "holy shit I need to turn this off because I am starting to hate the the first one" kind of way.

I need to rewatch Lost In Translation; may do that tonight. I absolutely loved it when it came out in college, but haven't watched it in years even though I own the dvd.

Ted 2

surprisingly not as bad as mookie felt after the first viewing. The sperm jokes (Brady, and rejected sickle cell) make the movie—which is probably saying a lot
