Watched it again last night, still as good as I remembered, possibly even better.

It's free on Amazon Prime thru midnight tonight, fyi.

Didn't know there was a book it was based on.

I... enjoyed this movie, but as mookie said, it was just a typical Mark Wahlberg film.

Iliza Shlesinger (Cissy) is hot and I have had a crush on her since her second stand up special Freezing Hot. She's a whip-smart comedian and her specials are hilarious.

Spenser is the character is perhaps 50 books, first by Robert b Parker until his death. Then continued by ace Atkins. Spenser was also a tv series for 3 seasons in the late 80s played by Robert urich with Avery brooks as hawk. In addition a handful of made for TV movies were made after the show was cancelled starring joe montaigna (or joe Montana).

long movie. Long... based on a true story, and even 3/4 into it they put up again “yes, based on a true story”.
 
well Ted mentions Channing Tatum at the end so a search found White House Down for mookie.
not as good as the “fallen” series for secret service flics with gerrard butler but it wasn’t long. Plus we got to see James woods die a horrible death, which wasn’t as good as the beat down in casino....but take what one can get

got the kid hostage out of the way. Then action action action. Much better movie though Jamie foxx is a better president
 
Coming to America sequel premieres tomorrow on Amazon. It's been getting good reviews. Not great reviews. Since there's no hockey for me tomorrow, I'm going to watch it.
 
Watched Elmer Gantry last night(taped it off TCM awhile ago). Burt Lancaster has always been one of my fave actors and this was one of the very few movies of his I'd never seen. Really good, to the tune of 5 Oscar nominations with 3 wins. Lancaster actor, smoking hot 26 yo Shirley Jones supporting actress, Richard Brooks best screenplay.
