Two fun facts about Indiana Jones:

1. Lucas wrote it as "Indiana Smith."

2. Clint Eastwood was supposed to play him, which would have been awful.

So was Tom Selleck. You can find his screen test on youtube.

3. In the original script we see 37 year old college professor Indiana Smith fooling around with one of his students.

4. Marion is 25. Their relationship ended 10 years ago. So when she says, "I was a child," she's being literal...

The Big Bang Theory (shut up snobs!) did an episode where they all slowly realize that nothing Indiana Jones did had any consequence in Raiders so he was rather worthless. If he had never shown up either they never find the Ark or they do, they open it and all the Nazis die anyways. He literally is just there to guide us to watch the inevitable.

That was pretty funny.

In the industry we call this "graduate school."

This is where faculty spouses come from.

That would have been horrible. Try to picture his hammy gaze of steel making Indy's wisecracks.

Yeah. It's always next to impossible to imagine somebody else in an iconic role. But some are obviously terrible. Another: Reagan as Rick in Casablanca.

One I think that would have be interesting: Bill Murray as Boon in Animal House. I'm glad how it turned out but I could see it going in a different direction with him.

Chevy Chase OTOH would have been terrible. God bless John Landis.

That was the funniest episode.

Also, I believe Tom Selleck was offered the role but had just signed his Magnum PI contract and couldn't get out of it.

And to give us one of the best epilogue/ credit transition scenes ever put to film.

That's absolutely hilarious.

Rewatched Joker tonight, since when I first saw it in theaters, I was unaware of any of the theories about what was real and what wasn't real (this was done on purpose, I went in blind).

That is even more of a mindf* of a movie when you really dissect it. You have:
1. Some parts are for sure real
2. Some parts are definitely not real
3. Some parts are plausible
4. Some parts are possible
5. Nothing was real, except the very ending
6. And the bonus...maybe Arthur isn't the real Joker, although he did some of the things in the movie

That is why I love it more than I probably should. Every time I watched it it was different.

It's just so...man.

That's why I love it, because there are so many directions. Thinking about it, there are things that definitely didn't happen, no matter what. And there are things that definitely did happen no matter what. The issue is, those gray areas. Where's the line? And so the discussion begins. :)

I'm gonna file this under "need to buy at some point" because as you said, it changes each time I watch it.

Daniel Craig's last outing as Bond, which has been delayed already, has been pushed back once again by MGM to a November release over fears of the Covid-19 virus.

I have not heard good things outside of Moss being excellent in her role (given what she had to work with).
