Really need to see Interstellar again. I was unprepared for it, to say the least (rough day, and not realizing how long it was).

The two brothers were annoying as hell...like when the one who was autistic half the time talked about their parents maybe getting divorced (which was a plot point that had no value and never came up again) and the older brother basically douching him out over it. Everyone else was either completely stupid, evil or both. The movie should have been called "Chris Pratt and the Island of Bad Ideas". ;)

The last half hour was a lot of fun and made up for most of the other 2 hours at least. Personally though I wish the dinosaurs had killed all the people and then fought. Whoever wrote the script must have been drunk or never met a person in real life because not one of the characters was likable or believable. It was an island of Nedrys :D I put this a half step above Jurassic Park 3 but leagues behind the original.

I do have to give them props for not dragging things out there at the Gyroscopes. It could have been pretty easy for the older brother to actually talk to those girls that went right before them and have them pairing off together to go though the herd together, going through the fence together, and then getting attacked by the I-Rex. Would have been an easy excuse to have a little teen eye-candy there and thankfully they didn't go there with that dreck of a story line.

That kid being all mopey about his gf yet staring down every girl he saw seemed contradictory.

It also didn't get wrapped up at the end. Much like the previously mentioned divorce storyline.

The kids just had no purpose. The entirety of Braindead Opie's Daughter's story was done without them anyways outside of some stupid half jokes. Delete them and you shorten the movie by like 45 minutes and make it much more cohesive. There was 20k people on the island no need to add two just for drama...plenty of fodder to kill :D

A 16yo boy being mopey about being parted from his girlfriend then visually undressing every cute girl he comes across while on a tropical island doesn't seem at all contradictory for a 16yo boy. In fact, it might take.. uh, some guys... back maybe 21 years.

You're spot on with the divorce storyline. Then again, parents are likely to toss aside the divorce issue while their kids face mortal danger. I figured it was just a weak callback to the third (second?) Jurassic movie with Tea Leoni and William H. Macy.

Like I said, just dont have the kids at all they were stupid and pointless. Its not like Claire was fleshed out enough to care about her anyways and the kids storyline didnt help.

The original Jaws is a fantastic movie. It turned out way better because they had mechanical issues with the shark and had to film 2/3rds of the movie without it, giving it a Hitchcock-esque feel. The cast is also great

The sequels turn into generic action/horror movies.

It's Spielberg. He did the same thing with War of the Worlds and the first three JP movies. He loves having kids involved, even where they serve no point.

Spielberg is to film what John Williams is to soundtracks: he mashes his foot down on the pedals of the emotion organ to get a reaction from even the dimmest audience member. His kids are just there as danger props.

They have made him a sh*tload of money.

*and college students, and twenty-somethings, maybe they grow out of it by their thirties. But maybe not.

Jurassic World was awesome and met every expectation I had. It'll never be included in the annals and won't hold up in that regard for any of us old enough to have seen the original in the theater, but it was fun and I couldn't care less about any unrealistic nuances with the brothers. Talk about picking the nit.

Why would I pay money to want to hate something? I only go to movies I want to see it isnt like they are cheap. (and I paid for 5 people to see it)

But then again I said it gets a "B" so I wouldnt say I hated it anyways...

(I know you were probably kidding but I am saying in general)
