That was actually a very calm guarantee. And fisticuffs is typically not my game, but it has happened before. I only fight on the ice though. So we'd have to wear skates, which might not work for you.

Pretty sure it doesn't matter what fan either one was. One guy almost died and one guy is getting locked up. End of story.

I thought it was common knowledge if you wail a guy and send him to the intensive care unit that there would be some criminal charges pressed against you. Maybe thats not how it works. I guess you have proved me wrong again.

Didn't he punch the guy? Wasn't the guy in the hospital? I guess I thought both of those things happened. Looks to me like you just like to start ****.

There are supposed witnesses that suggest the guy that ended up injured was part of the aggressors and that the man that caused the injury acted in self-defense. Who knows if that is true but the actual facts in this story really need to be confirmed before we convict anyone don't you think?

There are supposed witnesses that suggest the guy that ended up injured was part of the aggressors and that the man that caused the injury acted in self-defense. Who knows if that is true but the actual facts in this story really need to be confirmed before we convict anyone don't you think?

Obviously not. Peter should be thrown in jail for 50 years because of what ended up happening. Jason on the other hand started the whole thing because he's a Sioux fan and Sioux fans/players/coaches start everything.

Was there a handshake line involved? Did a bystander flick anyone off in response? Did the guy that's nearly dead try to hide behind someone else first?

These are details we need to know before drawing any conclusions.

I just fired off an email to the General Manager of the Ralph. I took the liberty to "cc" a few other UND bigshots just for laughs.

Needless to say, since a lawsuit is more than likely pending, not expecting a response. However, Goon's article of how some fans were treated "inside" the arena is shocking. I guess its also amazing that only one person almost got killed outside the arena.

An ironic thing that could happen from the fight outside is that Mr. Smith could also end up being charged with assault.

Unless you saw it all go down you don't know what happened. Both sides of the stories could not be any further from polar opposites. So it looks like if it goes to court it will be a long back and forth battle.

The criminal case will be a walk in the park compared to the potential civil case. Especially if defendant is found Not Guilty or not charged in the criminal case.

Methinks the winds of change are sweeping accross the plains of North Dakota. The GF Herald with and editorial today about some of the misbehaving UND fans. Naturally the "Comments" after the article are amusing and to North Dakota's credit around 40% of the comments support the author. This is a HUGE step in the right direction. I think the Ralph was about to get an overhaul anyway, but this is a good first step.

Agreed he's off the mark on the the Wave, but the swearing, assaults, beer dumping and the atmosphere needs to be improved.

The NCAA has a huge "Sportmanship Campaign" and the video does seem to contradict that. Just show UND scoring goals, holding aloft trophies and blocking shots; its not that difficult.

The article sends a message to the UND & Ralph brass that they need to get their act together. Its going to take some work.

Goon - good blog. A lof of fans wouldn't be willing to 'call out their own' like that but you're obviously wise enough to realize that there are jerks everywhere and that it's not acceptable to behave like that, no matter the colors one adorns.
