Re: MN Golden Gophers @ UND Sioux: Arrogant vs Offensive!
You sure about that?
it was a sue on sue crime

I disagree about 1979. UND won the WCHA championship in 1979 by beating Minnesota at Williams Arena in the final game of the season. In face Dave Christian scored the empty net goal at that game. I was there for those two last games. These teams were dead even all year and the only difference for the season was the final game where Broten scored the one on his belly to have Minnesota take the season series by one game. North Dakota and Minnesota were both dominant in 1979 and fittingly played for the national championship. So don't give me that Minnesota "deserved to win the national championship".
Both teams would have been stacked in 1980 until a number of Gopher players went to the US Olympic team and North Dakota lost two players (Dave Christian to the US and Kevin Maxwell to Canada). Because Minnesota lost more in 1980, UND had their way with the WCHA and won the national championship. Now if all players would have stayed with their teams it would have been another battle just like in 1979 but it was not a given that Minnesota would win again.
Also I would guess the Gophers lost more players to the USA Olympic team than any other team in the country from the previous years NCAA roster. How many UND players left for the USA team or even the Canadian Olympic team? I might be wrong but probably not as many as Minnesota lost.
You sure about that?
I think his point though is valid - had neither team lost anyone to the Olympics the 1980 post-season would still have been hard fought and there's no way to assume the Gophers would have won it without question. Yeah, they would have been a very good bet but that's as far as I would take that.
Doesn't mean he's a Sioux fan. There are a more then a few Gopher fans in Grand Forks, and some that attend the University for both grad and undergrad.sure, the guy charged was a double graduate of UND.

Who he was cheering for has not been reported. He could be Sioux fan, Gopher fan, Mankato fan, SCSU fan...we don't know until it gets reported.
Pretty sure it doesn't matter what fan either one was. One guy almost died and one guy is getting locked up. End of story.
Lemme guess. You know the DA and the judge, and the trial already happened.
Boy, I'm glad you know all these people where you get your facts from.
I thought it was common knowledge if you wail a guy and send him to the intensive care unit that there would be some criminal charges pressed against you. Maybe thats not how it works. I guess you have proved me wrong again.
And you believe everything the media reports?
If the facts are as presented, then yeah, throw the guy to the mercy of Bubba. But there's a thing called due process. Let's see how that plays out.
Didn't he punch the guy? Wasn't the guy in the hospital? I guess I thought both of those things happened. Looks to me like you just like to start ****.
And did you see the alleged other details, about how it might not have been a punch, but a shove?
I would almost guarantee you there are more details we don't know about.
And if you really read what I said, if the facts presented (he wailed on the guy, and is guilty of assault), then fine, toss his arse in jail. I'd be happy about that.
But to say the guy is guilty with no trial, no other facts than what you read in the media......that is not only stupid, but ignorant, too.
And who the **** cares what fan hit what fan. One guy did something to another guy who almost died. There. Find something wrong with that.
You are just a bitter, bitter person. Just because I was right about something and you weren't, let it go. And even if it was a shove, guess what, he's still in trouble. If you can't figure that out than you are an idiot. And just to make you happy, I was at the game and I even walked out that door taht it happened at. I did not, however, see it happen or the aftermath.
