Flawed logic, we aren't giving anything back or making excuses. The might have been even better if David Christian wasn't off winning a gold medal with said Gophers.

UND is second best in your opinion? I would not have guessed that with the way you whine about them all the time... While I think Minnesota has a decent program, they aren't any where close to second best to the Sioux....maybe somewhere behind Denver and Wisconsin.

Gophers were not a better team than the Sioux prior to the 1980 Olympics. Only reason Gophers won a NC in 1979 was by sheer luck.

Speaking of overage Sioux players I love what Neal Broten had to say about Sioux defensemen Howard Walker.

I'll never forget the pregame skate before we played the Sioux at Williams Arena at the end of the [regular] season.

"Walker came over to our blue line and said, 'Hey, Broten, how do you like your Christian Brothers [stick]?' I said, 'Great. I've been playing with these sticks my whole life.' And Walker said, 'That's good, because you're going to be eating one tonight.'

"Walker was a rough-looking guy -- big mustache, hair all over. I almost passed out."

I am sure most Sioux fans would have accepted them both with open arms. I don't know Grant personally but from what I see I think he is a stand up guy that chose the other team.

If anybody remembers when his happened, Tyler Palmiscino was playing i think in Sioux falls or Sioux City, and was on a line with Ruslan Fedotenko, and his stats were inflated because of that. Grant was more a role player and leader, still with decent numbers, but nothing close to Palmo's.

And no, the story I told was correct. There are always a lot of rumors about that kind of stuff here in Grand Forks. Most are just rumors.

I have literally talked to multiple Gopher players who can't stand the guy.

No you haven't. No one that has as big a chip on their shoulder about Gophers hockey as you do would ever have regular contact with ex-Gophers.

I believe this series was settled on the ice this past weekend.

Of note is the fact that the much older, experienced Gopher team was pushed around by a team dominated by freshmen on Friday .... and most of Saturday.

I chuckle at the "we would have won 6 or 7 if we weren't off winning the Olympics." Wow. And if your mother ate peas instead of carrots your eyes wouldn't be as __________ (fill in the blank). Put that in the "I'll guess we'll never know" category of excuses.

I think Friday was a medical excuse for the gophers - no heart, no legs, no test*****. Was there an Olympic game the gophers were playing at last Friday?

Do you think everyone on this board is ignorant of the excellent high school hockey in Minnesota in comparison to North Dakota and pretty much every other State? By your own logic you should have a lock on all the top talent in Minnnesota since no Minnesota kid in their right mind would play for anyone but the Gophers. But they don't. (VandeVelde, Parise, Goehring) And the situation is getting worse with every disappointing Gopher season.

Is it annoying that the Bison beat the Gophers in football? Is it more or less annoying to look at their rosters and see the North Dakotans on the Bison roster. Minnesota has only 6-8 times more people to pick from for football, hockey, tiddly-winks.

I was wrong SIM - your garbage is one in the same. My obvious point by that question was that I was not bothered by there being non-Minnesotans on the team in 2002 and 2003 and I will never be bothered by it.

I believe the Sioux are now only 5 games away from the all-time series lead over the Gophers ... and closing fast. 2009 was nice in that the regular season saw a +3 improvement.

Let me put it to you this way, I find him more credible than you. I had a chance to talk and rub elbows with quite a few of the Gopher players in the summer of 1997, which was the year when the Sioux won the NCAA title and these players didn't seem to have any issues with Wooger. Just for the record Woog was like 3rd over-all in NCAA wins and your just some random faceless person.
