Re: MN Golden Gophers @ UND Sioux: Arrogant vs Offensive!

well, i dont think we should give the start to Dell, since Eidsness looked very good and deserves to start...its much to big of a game to give a freshman his first start.

Re: MN Golden Gophers @ UND Sioux: Arrogant vs Offensive!

I don't see Hak starting Dell tonight. He didn't start last Saturday against Merrimack, I wouldn't think he'd start tonight. Perhaps Dell will play against UAA next week or MTU in three weeks, but I just don't see him playing tonight.

Why bench Eidsness? It's not like he got a workout last night.

Agreed, I think the games are a lot more fun to watch when the score is close, then one team destroying another. Also on Hammy's twitter it says Patterson gets the start tonight. Hopefully the Sioux give the start to there new goalie Aaron Dell, two new goalies in action at the wcha level.
Dell won't see ice for a long time.

Surprising lack of posts for it being game day and all. Where's the fire that was clearly lit under all our asses earlier this week?

This afternoon is draaaaaaaaaagging along. Hurry up, clock! I'm ready to see a Gopher beatdown of the Susies.
Exactly what kind of beatdown were you talking about?;)

Re: MN Golden Gophers @ UND Sioux: Arrogant vs Offensive!

I predict tonights game will be a more-traditional Sioux-Gopher game.

* More hitting.
* More nasty.
* More even.

Sioux better be ready, because the Gophers are most likely mad enough to chew neutronium.

Hunt and Shep were calling it pretty tight last night, for both teams. If there is going to be more hitting, then I could easily see most of the first period involving PP/PK units on the ice.

And given the full history record of the series, I also hope it's more of a traditional Sioux-Gopher game tonight. ;)

Re: MN Golden Gophers @ UND Sioux: Arrogant vs Offensive!

I don't know why the gophs would start anyone but Kangas. He was the only player that showed up yesterday. Without him it would have been an 8 or 9 goal game.

The gophers showed no signs of playing any differently tonight. They could barely get the puck away from VV during the 5 minute powerplay at the end of the game. They didn't try to start anything. They just layed down and died. It was sad actually. All the talk about how they have been trying to play tougher and grittier. That was funny.

GO Sioux! Don't take your foot off their throat just yet.

Just like last year when the Gophers were going to come out flying on Saturday. Instead they laid another egg. The Gophers need to prove they are going to play tough before I assume it anymore. They've sat around with their thumbs up their butts the last three games in Grand Forks.

Putting their thumbs up their butts means that they had the motivation to do so, and furthermore put forth the effort to perform such an act. Last night had neither motivation nor effort. :mad: :(

As a newbie frosh, Hak is probably making him sit for a bit.
