MLB 2019 and Beyond: Something Something Three True Outcomes....

Re: MLB 2019 and Beyond: Something Something Three True Outcomes....

If we get rid of DH, then let's go all the way to keep tradition and have pitchers pitch all 9 (+) innings.

Heck, let's go back to when there was four strikes and five balls for each at bat. Traditionalists like Kepler would love that... :)

Re: MLB 2019 and Beyond: Something Something Three True Outcomes....

Why no designated runner when a slow man reaches?

In fact, why not just have ONE batter, the best on the team, and then designated runners, the fastest on the team, for all men on base, and then designated fielders for every position?

I mean, we want to see THE BEST, right? Anything else would just be olde timey and uncool, right?

Sometimes you people make me sad. This is why our planet is a toilet. You don't understand when to leave things the f-ck alone.

Americans don't know it yet, but they basically want to turn baseball into cricket.

Because a) teams dont run anymore, and b) the 1 batter would get tired batting 27+ times.

At least put forth some effort in your nonsense. :p

It's the logical extension of the braindead DH argument. I can't help the corollaries once the axiom is so stupid.

Quiet you. It’s fun watching Kep become unhinged because of all this!

Here’s a hint: the people who care most about baseball, and all of this, are mostly over 40.

A friend on Amazin Ave pointed out that in 2018 catchers' combined OBP (.293) was lower than pitchers' (.304). By the logic presented in this thread, there should be 2 DH slots.

You know what. The DH is welcome to the NL IF it's for the catchers. We shouldn't have to make those poor guys take their gear off/get dressed to play on the off chance they have to hit. Pitchers still have to hit for themselves though.

Why not only let pitchers hit. No one else. That would be a different type of entertainment! :D

It also solves the length of game issues. We will get tidy 1 hr 30 min games.

Each half inning would look like this:

Re: MLB 2019 and Beyond: Something Something Three True Outcomes....

Kris Bryant lost his service time case. Meaning teams are free to continue manipulating it.

Re: MLB 2019 and Beyond: Something Something Three True Outcomes....

The Astros compound their ... whatever ... "questionable decision making" by hiring Dusty Baker to be their next manager.

I'm sure that'll go great with their analytics department. I'd imagine everyone there is updating their resume about now. I can't imagine some of their pitchers are real excited right about now either.
