Re: MLB 2013 - This Bud's for you!

Who get's AL Home Field Advantage?
Remaining games:
Red Sox: Blue Jays (3), at Rockies (2), at Orioles (3).

Athletics: Twins (3), at Angels (3), at Mariners (3).

Tigers: White Sox (3), at Twins (3), at Marlins (3).
What are the tie breakers?

That's a really soft schedule for the Tigers, slightly less so for the A's. But if the Red Sox go 4-4, the Tigers would need to go 8-1 and the A's 7-2 to catch them. Baltimore ain't keeping the Sox out of the playoffs this year, but they'd love to screw the Sox out of something.

Oh. When did you bet on the Pirates? If you did before the season, that doesn't make much sense, either.

It was about 6 weeks ago, I think they were 10:1, so its not like I'll make too much money. I only put 10 bucks on them.

Re: MLB 2013 - This Bud's for you!

Andy Pettitte just announced that he is retiring at the end of this season. That leaves Jeter as the only remaining member of the Core Four and his future is in doubt.
From a Red Sox fan, congratulations. Mariano is getting his due, and Jeter's gotten a lot of recognition he didn't deserve (the Gold Gloves ), but Pettite never got the recognition he deserved, even from the Yankees (who let him walk). The thing I'll remember about him will be the glove held high obscuring everything but his eyes and his skill at pitching in tough situations. Bases loaded, no outs, you expect to score against most pitchers and you're pizzed off if you don't. Against Pettite, you hope you will score and you're relieved if you do.

Also I have respect for him because telling the truth was more important than protecting a slimeball. Even Clemens couldn't bring himself to a character assassination of Pettite, instead introducing the word "misremembered" into the lexicon.
So it looks to me like the Tigers own the tiebreaker with the Red Sox, but with Oakland, they'd need to go to a second tiebreaker, which I'm too lazy to try to figure.

I don't think you're supposed to retire numbers while people are still wearing them, Yankees.

Rivera walking in to Enter Sandman, live, was pretty cool though.
