MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

I'm just hoping this helps the Jays become more competitive in the brutal AL East

The real people who should be ****ed are the taxpayers of Miami who are on the hook for about $360M for the new stadium. That looks like a great investment now!

This is amazing....

And no wonder Steinbrenner and sons are so dead set against revenue sharing. And payroll tax bs. Good for them.

That division might be one of the most competitive of all time. NYY is NYY, BOS should have their hair on fire about last season, BAL is resurgent, and now even farking TOR can smack people around.

95 wins in that meat grinder might leave you on the outside looking in.

95 wins in that division would probably be #1. Everybody is gonna beat up on everybody. The number of division wins will be at a premium, the winner will be the one who does the best outside the division.

I'm digging around in the attic for my 93 World Series Champs hat! :D

Finally, the bean counters at Rogers let Anthopolous loosen the purse strings. And I don't think he's done yet.

Now all AA needs to do is hire the right manager.

David Price wins AL Cy Young. Closest vote in history, 1969 AL Cy exempted.

The Yankees can deduct the interest on their new(ish) $1B stadium and thus pay less in revenue sharing than before. Which I find hysterical

What an oppurtune time for a MLB owner to do another fire sale while Fehr's over at the NHL offices talking about how awesome the MLB system is.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Melky Cabrera signs a 2 year deal with the Jays.

The Toronto Blue Jays are going to eff your shiat up. THE TORONTO FREAKING BLUE JAYS. What kind of world are we living in?

To be fair, it's the same *hole owner who performed a fire sale after winning the World Series. Doesn't get much lower than that.

Just imagine if the NHL owners had the ability to blow by the salary cap or ignore the cap floor (within reason). Markets like Florida, Phoenix, and Columbus could model themselves after the Pittsburgh Pirates and be profitable through losing.

Side note: I've always enjoyed how open the Pirates are about sucking so hard, yet being able to take their revenue share and keep the team financially stable. And hate how the Marlins are so secretive about the practice because the owner is skimming off the top.
