MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

If the catcher is set up way inside, why wouldn't you hand or foot slide to the outside of the plate just in case?

Would of been easily safe at home with any effort or thought.

I was thinking, Where was the on-deck hitter for Texas? He's supposed to be standing behind the plate, so he can signal to the runner which way it's best to slide. The runner's busy hustling; if the on-deck guy is in place, he waves him to the outside, and he's safe.

Babe, Reggie and now Albert - some pretty select company on the big stage.

So, this Pujols guy is pretty good...

the amazing thing is how he was sort of wearing the drama that surrounded his 9th inning error in game 2. they wondered if he would be able to put it all behind him. question answered!

I guess all questions answered within a few innings last night. I have watched a lot of Series games in my life-saw 3 HRs once, 6 RPIs once, 5 hits once-but never all in the same game-not to mention 14 total bases. And I thought I had seen it all in my first live game when Carl Erskine no hit the NY Giants 3-0 at Ebbets Field in the early 50's. Say whatever you want about Pujols, the Cardinals, LaRussa-that was one fantastic performance. But as far as this series goes-it is still up in the air-leading in games 2-1 is not as big an advantage as it seems. Cardinal pitching still has to stop Texas hitting and whether they can do that in Texas or St Louis for 2 more games remains to be seen. In any case-this has become one interesting series without the hoopla of Ny or Philly or Boston involved.

Something like 14 of the last 14 teams that won game three of a 1-1 series has gone on to win it all :D

Overall I think the stat is really more like a bit over 60% go on to win-not an unexpected number after being up a game. You are correct in that recently it has seemed to make more of a difference. I would guess that tonight's game will be more decisive in determining the eventual outcome. No matter what happens, we have been treated to 3 interesting games-but for different reason. The first 2 were tight nail biters and the 3rd was just a magical performance that you might just see once in a lifetime.

Someone may actually bother to look it up :p
But I believe I saw on the ESPN bottom line that the World Series has been tied 1-1 52 times and the team that won Game 3 won the series 35 times.

Carpenter v Wilson rematch tonight, then its off to St. Louis.

After this game I like the way the pitching lines up for Texas to hit against. But they need to actually hit. Even in their win last night, they only had a handful.

Moreland needs to hit the pine, unless he has to play to keep Napoli behind the plate. I think Napoli is a much better player at C then at 1B.

This one is probably going the full seven games. Surprisingly exciting series and anyone who thinks they could predict this one was just being wishful 3 low scoring pitching duels and one outrageous high scoring game. Normally i could care less about the Series since hockey is in full swing-but this year there is just something attractive about it.

Based on his cringe-worthy appearance on the broadcast tonight, Derek Holland is a goober in exactly the same way as my wife's ex-husband.

Washington's a bit more animated in the dugout than most.

I love seeing the emotion he has, I want the Rangers to win cause he does such a great job and brings that passion to the ballpark.

Crazy miscommunication by the Cards tonight, the crowd noise was the reason Motte wasn't warming up sooner, and he wasn't ready to face Napoli, thus he couldn't come in to force a righty-righty matchup.

Even if true, that's a shiatty excuse.
