Won the drawing for the chance to buy Opening Day tickets at Fenway. Hope I get them.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

End of this month (Feb) MLB.TV subscriptions will auto-renew. Just a word of warning so you don't wonder what happened to that $119 in your bank account. :)

I see the premium version is $124.99. I am thinking of buying this for the first time. Any chance of getting a better price than that between now and when the season starts, or does it stay at this price until the cut it about halfway through the year?

The latter. I've been a subscriber for about 5 years now and I've never gotten any kind of earlybird special.

As an existing member it says:

Your 2011 MLB.TV Premium Yearly subscription is currently active.

Your MLB.TV Premium Yearly subscription is set to automatically renew prior to the beginning of LIVE Spring Training games, on or about February 29, 2012 at the full 2011 yearly price of $119.99 (that's $5 off 2012's regular full yearly price). Automatic renewal is the only way to lock in 2011 pricing.

Your subscription includes portability to connected and mobile devices at no additional cost. New for 2012: At Bat 12 is now included with purchase of an MLB.TV Premium Subscription (a $14.99 value) - watch LIVE games on your iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and most Android phones and tablets. To watch on these devices simply download the free At Bat 12 App and login with your MLB.TV username and password.
So slight discount.

Spring training starts this week.

Roy Oswalt still has not signed.

Tony Gwynn had <a href="http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7578270/hall-famer-tony-gwynn-14-hour-tumor-removal-surgery">successful surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his mouth</a>

You should start a 2012 edition of this thread. :)

Also, I am happy for Gwynn but he has stated that he isn't going to stop chewing, so these tumors are just going to keep coming back.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

Mike Cameron announced his retirement.

Manny Ramirez signed a minor-league deal with Oakland.

Roy Oswalt... still not signed.

I thought I read he hadn't chewed since his surgery in 2010? I didn't read that much into it, I guess. That's unfortunate if he said he won't stop - usually think of him as a good role model.

and I've always thought it was silly to have separate threads for different seasons (or parts of a season) before the previous thread got closed. so I won't be starting a new one. :p :)

Sad to see a roider get off because of a non-technicality technicality.

Pretty much agree. If there's anyone out there that actually thinks Braun isn't guilty as sin...I have a bridge for sale.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

I don't think anyone who presumes guilt for a player using steroids can ever have their mind changed. So that's a losing battle no matter what is said or what evidence is revealed.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

I understand what he's saying, but not loving it so far.

Edit: I posted that when he was sounding like he wasn't going to say much. In the end, it was a pretty decent statement, still would have loved to hear a lot more though.
