MLB 2011 Part 1

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

My summer is starting to fill up.

Twins play in SF this year. But it's a Tues-Thurs series. Considering a Wed night-Sun afternoon trip out and catch the Thursday day game, then visit with my niece and nephew the other couple days.

I think the September trip to see NY Mets @ Atlanta is a done deal. Especially since its a weekend.

I'm so pumped that I managed to get face value tickets to the the entire Brewers @ Red Sox series :)

Have you figured out if you'll be able to make it to the games yet? :p

ETA: My buddy and I are thinking about buying a Twins 20 game plan, but on the website it only has information on signing up for the "on deck circle". Does this mean that tickets for this coming season are sold out, or if we sign up for the on deck circle, would we still have a chance at getting tickets this season?

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Since we're talking about tickets: hey Twins fans, any tips for finding tickets to your home opener, which is the only game over FF weekend with timing conducive to a trip to Target Field? (Why is the Saturday game a night game? LAAAAAAME.)

Single game tickets haven't gone on sale yet, they go on sale sometime in March, but I haven't been able to find an actual date, either they're being mysterious about it or Google is broken. I would try to get tickets then, actually I will be trying to get tickets then. I suggest that anyone who is able to purchase tickets, buy many of them, there are a bunch of us USCHO frozen 4 attendees that want to go to the game.

This doesn't surprise me; the Mets also make it difficult to figure out when single game tickets go on sale, I think it's a ploy to sell as many ticket plans as possible first.

Edit to add: I'll probably make a trip down to DC to see the Mets at the end of July, I've been meaning to see Nationals Stadium plus I have friends down there I'd like to visit, and that's their only weekend series in DC this season. I'd also like to go see a game or two in Philly, but I can't take Phils fans' smugness at the moment so that might have to wait another year or two. Was hoping to see them out west, but their trip to Arizona and San Diego is one week off from when I'll be out in SD for a friend's wedding. Why couldn't he have taken my needs into account when he scheduled it, huh?

Last year it was mid March (around the 14th) that single game went on sale for the Twins.

As a season ticket holder, I have access to the presale. So if you want in, I might be able to swing something. An awesome benefit that I can buy single game tickets for season ticket holder prices.

Regarding home opener: Good luck. That thing is a lottery every for season ticket holders. I can certainly try. Let me know.

Regarding the 20-game packages: Those are season ticket packages. I don't think they do the flex 40/20 anymore since the stadium is full.

If you can get tickets, I'll certainly buy from you, and probably buy ya some beers too.

Yeah, I think the 20 game pack is a season ticket package, you don't get to choose your games or anything like that, you can choose between 2 or 3 plans, and you get the 20 games in that plan. I'm just trying to figure out if I can still get that package for this upcoming season.

yeah, I'm actually on the 20-game package. It's pretty sweet. I was going to upgrade this past offseason to full or half seasons but with the whole house thing I put that off until at least next year. I'm quite certain season tickets are now in waiting list mode (or they have been since the start of last season). No word on how much the list moved this year, but based on the upgrade/relocation process, there wasn't a lot of people who didn't renew.

I'm more than happy to try and get single-game tickets.

I'm in the market for two for the home opener, but I totally understand if you'd rather sell them to Twins fans if you're able to get them.

I'm guessing that even he will have a tough time getting tickets to that game, but he'll probably have a better chance than us non-season ticket holders will. Regardless of if I get tickets, I'm planning on spending Friday afternoon/evening/night in downtown Minneapolis. The pre/post and even during the game atmosphere down there is incredible. If I can get tickets, that's even better. I believe that Friday night was the night when a bunch of us were planning on spending the night drinking in Minneapolis anyway, maybe head over to Gasthof's at some point.

I'll enter the lottery for them. I doubt I'll be able to go so that makes this an easy deal. I can't promise anything though.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Today is Albert deadline day - noon. One number being thrown around is 10 years/$300 mil. Seems a little long for a guy who's 31 and plays in the NL, even if he is the second coming.

I think the best he ends up getting is 7 yrs, and even then I think at least 1 of those is an option year.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

No deal today between St Louis and Pujols. Cardinals PC scheduled for 1230

Well, the talking heads on ESPN today all seemed to agree that he is the best player EVER.
