MLB 2011 Part 1

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

The local (DC) ESPN radio affiliate is taking calls on the hypothetical "Albert Pujols comes to the Washington Nationals." It is one of the funniest exercises in blindly parochial homerism I've ever heard.

Evidently:

1) "Albert cares a lot about causes. Do you think he could have more influence coming to DC, where there's a lot of federal funding available for philanthropy?"

and even better:

2) "St. Louis belongs to Stan Musial. If Pujols ever wants a legacy (actual words used), he should come to DC and be identified as the guy who built the franchise."

The few sane callers who have poured cold water on the idea have been predictably hooted down.

More devastating news for the Cards - Adam Wainwright to miss entire season - <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2011/02/adam-wainwright-cardinals-ace-will-miss-entire-season-after-tommy-john-surgery.html">needs TJ surgery</a>.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Updated my MLB.TV subscription for 2011 and downloaded At Bat 11 for my phone. I am all set for the season!

Oh and preseason games between MLB teams start today with D-Backs/Giants :)

And the rest of the NL Central rejoices...

(too bad the Cubs are still going to suck balls this year).

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I watched that 5-part series on the Top 100 Right Now. It's a nearly impossible task to rate players in this way. There is a few things I would want to switch around, but its all subjective based on what you value (leadership, stats, past performance, upside, etc).

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Brought to mind by Duke Snider's recent passing:

Because everything in life can be related to The Simpsons:

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I'm in the market for two for the home opener, but I totally understand if you'd rather sell them to Twins fans if you're able to get them.
Not that you will be able to get them, but the Twins have posted single game ticket info.

On Sale: Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. CT
Twins Territory Team members will have the opportunity to buy tickets before the general public. Sign up by Mon., March 14 to participate.

So how do I join this Twins Territory Team? :p

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

If he could get face value tickets to the opener, the $20 would be well worth it.
Except he is still buy a remote chance at face value tickets to the opener. All season ticket holders and partial game plan holders still have priority in buying additional home opener tickets than people in the Twins Territory Team.

(hoping that dxmnkd comes through on home opener tickets....) ;)
