MLB 2011 Part 1

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

If I'm the Yankees, where do I want to potentially play the ALCS? Tampa, where half the fans may be retired New Yorkers, rooting for the Yankees? Or Boston, dealing with a bunch of Mark Wahlberg wannabees, spitting on my wife? I think Proctor grooved Longoria one.
If Proctor wanted to throw it, wouldn't he have done it two innings earlier so he could get a good night's sleep?

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Let me get this straight. The team the Yankees were going to spend all their time worrying about facing in a potential ALCS and the only team with a chance to beat them won as many games in September as the 2011 Minnesota Twins.

Are you guys listening to yourselves? The Sox have been dead for weeks. They're just being tossed on the cart now instead of in 3-4 more games.

That's EXACTLY what I've been saying. Don't even think about including me in "you guys".

Also, watching the video replay of the Proctor pitch, the catcher sets up well outside and he tosses one right down the middle of the pipe, right in the wheelhouse. 95 mph.

Ever hear of slump-busting? I'm just saying, that the Sox are in a major meltdown. But to not entertain the notion that they could go on a 7 game (just throwing out a number) tear is not unreasonable. They have the talent, it's just the talent is all in a major funk right now. Not saying they would break out of it, just saying the potential is there.

Sorry Brent, I like ya, but you're way off on this one. The Sox had about a .01% chance to win a single game in the postseason.

Statistically, they were in the worst slump in major league history. Like 9 games below probability. Ain't no busting that, especially when all the pitching talent is burnt out or injured. Anything less than scoring double digit runs was a loss. That's not sustainable.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

The Red Sox blow. Thus, they had a 0.01% chance of winning a game in the playoffs. Post hoc ad ergo hominem.

And e.g. et al, i.e., F U, the Yanks thought the Sox had a better "improv" or "impromptu" lineup than the Little Engine That Could Rays. :P

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

It'd prove my point, along with GLM's and some others lurking out there......Yanks want the Sox out. They want TB in.

I don't agree with that, but we'll see how this unfolds.

As a Sox fan, I don't think the potential was there to go on a run. They simply don't have the starting pitching necessary to win.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... Oh wait, you were serious?

What are you talking about? Certainly haven't seen a Sox fan in this thread accuse the Yanks of tanking it. Just curious, you aren't a Yanks/Sox fan...who is your team?
