Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I'm neutral in this, but who really cares if they did?

I'm a Red Sox fan and it wasn't a dive. I watched as it unfolded. Most of the regulars were long gone and it was the Trenton Thunder on the field. The Yanks used 11 pitchers in the first 9 innings. The Yankees didn't need to win and it showed, but you can't say they threw the game intentionally.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Phillies lead in the 13th on a bloop that went about 110 feet, tops. Atlanta must score in the bottom half or St. Louis takes the Wild Card.

Going to the bottom of the 11th in Tampa. Bottom of the 13th in Atlanta. And Chipper Jones could be taking his last MLB at bat.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Close play at 1st that Pedroia beat, while the 1st baseman never had control of the ball. 1st base ump called him out. After Francona came out to discuss/argue, they conferred with the home plate ump, and eventually got the call right. That could have been an unholy disaster. I could just imagine if Joe West was in Baltimore working 1st base instead of being in Tampa....

Ellsbury, not Pedroia
