Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Magglio Ordonez fractured his ankle trying to score from 1st on a Miguel Cabrera double and will miss 6-8 weeks. That whoosh sound you just heard was the wind going right out of the Tigers' sails for 2010.

The twin in me is cheering, but the rest of me can't help but think, "oh ****ty"

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

D-bags trade Dan Haren to Anaheim for Joe Saunders and a package of other bums.

What a ridiculous organization.

not that the player ever has much say (hello oswalt) but haren really wanted to stay west. so maybe a good non-deal for NY

Oswalt has 10 & 5 rights, so he does have a say actually.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

I don't think the Yankees were going to go after a big name starter. But I think Cashman was doing due dilligence in seeing what the price would be. I think they will more likely pick up a power bat for the bench and a reliever. I do think Hughes will be moved to the pen for the playoffs presuming Pettite comes back fine. Rumors are Yankees looking at Soria - don't know if I see KC giving him up. I could see the Pirates giving up something for Dotal to let Meek be their closer.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Seems odd that ESPN is breaking in to programming to show A-Rod trying for 600. He admitted to steroid use, doesn't that sort of invalidate his numbers?

Man how I wish Ken Griffey Jr. would of stayed healthy.

It's been pretty low key as it is. It would have been non stop discussion for the last week or so without the steroid admittance.

1st no no for in history Tampa Bay. yet they have had 2 against them this year. The Royals of all teams have only had 2 against them ever (Mariners with 2 also...as well as Colorado, Arizona and Florida..though they havent been around as long). The Dodgers have thrown the most (20) while Philly and Atlanta have each had 17 against them. The Mets and Padres have never thrown a no hitter. But have 7 and 8 against them respectively.

The Rays were actually no-hit 3 times in less than a year.
