Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Apparently Aroldis Chapman touched 105 on the radar gun twice last night in a minor league game. After the first one they changed the batteries in the radar gun, and he did it again.

Manny to the White Sox. Straight waiver claim.

Wow, that's a lotta crazy in one clubhouse.

I understand the White Sox just claimed him on waivers.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

i think mlb should start fining players who throw the bat and helmet after they get out. not a good example to set for little leaguers watching. some guys even do it after they strike out swinging

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Operating on the assumption that you're being serious here...

I don't agree. Players need to blow off steam. If you restrain them there, it's just going to blow up somewhere else. As long as they're not showing anyone up, I don't have a problem with it. If TV has such an issue with it, they've got control of their own cameras. What happens if a player gets ****ed after an at bat and drops 4-letter bombs in the dugout, and they start sticking cameras there? Is that not going to be okay then?

Going off on a tangent here, but it's no different than showing TD celebrations in the NFL. Bitter old men get so butthurt over those, for absolutely no reason. The quickest way to kill that is to not show it on TV. Show the idiot in the 4 row, working on his 6th Budweiser of the 1st quarter, going "WOO HOO!!!" into the camera. Show a sideline shot of the team that just scored. Show a replay. Anything other than the celebration. You'd put an end to it quick, fast, and in a hurry.

We don't need cameras showing everything down to the bat boy picking his nose and showing us what shade of green the booger is.

they should put punching bags in the clubhouse behind the dugout then if they cant control their anger. when they are on the field they dont need to be throwing their bat like a projectile or bouncing their helmet like a basketball.

pitchers get back to the dugout and bag their glove on the bench. fine, i can understand that. what if they slammed their glove on the mound like a baby when the coach came to take them out? grow up.

i understand blowups and swearing at the umps will happen time to time. but the frustration with getting out is nearly a constant with the players who are guilty of it.

Fine, but that doesn't mean that they need to put it on camera. There is a producer that has access to multiple cameras. This has been going on for 100+ years. It's nothing new. You don't remember the videos of water coolers going flying in 70's and 80's, and bat racks getting destroyed?

Some of this is for attention. Don't give it to them.

Personally, I like seeing pitchers that are struggling get mad. Throw your glove and blow some of the steam off. It's reassuring to see them react to a bad performance. It reminds you they still actually care.

Is this also why 6 year olds throw temper tantrums? because they care so much? ;)
