Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

well he just lost it with 2 outs in the 9th. a walk killed him and brought up longoria. toronto still won the game 1-0

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

The Buck Showalter lead Orioles are on pace to finish 80-82. :D As he has an .833 winning percentage.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

The Mariners have fired manager Don Wakamatsu and pitching coach Rick Adair.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

It's freaking insane. They're supposed to be one of the best teams yet they're always in the mix as the victims of no-hitters.

CNNSI had an interesting article on this. They are near the bottom in batting average, but they are good in on base percentage because of the amount of walks they take.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Orioles do it again. Taking 3 of 4 from the White Sox. :D

I think that puts Showalter at 6-1 (.857).

Still puzzled my M's fired Wakamatsu. I don't think it's totally his fault, but the fight with Figgins sealed it. I hate that the inmates run the asylum, but they have so much into Figgins. Of course, everything that could go wrong did for Seattle.

Turning that triple play was cool, though.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

I'm no fan of the Cardinals, but Brandon Phillips is a b-tch.

And apparently there was a brawl between Cincy and STL tonight.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Well, I did hear that Phillips did run his mouth earlier today. He just comes off to me as a real punk.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

The Twins are in the process of curbstomping the dirty White Sox. Let's hope the pitching staff doesn't give it all back. I'm looking at you, moonshot.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Although I'll be surely criticized for saying this and accused of being sarcastic, I'm actually being sincere:

Congratulations to Mike Fontenot for escaping the Cubs organization. I think you've played far better than your playing time indicates and I hope you succeed in the future. (In other words, don't pull a Matt Murton)

Welcome Eric Crawford to the Cubs organization. If you can make the major league squad, you have one of the easiest assignments in the major leagues. All you have to do is to be able to hit and to not **** off the manager. Fielding isn't all that important as long as you can hit (See Castro, Starlin). I think you'll do well for the Cubs, or at least the Iowa Cubs.

Like the Theriot/Lilly for DeWitt trade, this is a trade that was good for both teams. The Cubs get a prospect, and Fontenot gets out of Chicago.

Too bad though. I thought Fontenot was better than Baker.

Fukudome is next? Or will they be able to trade Baker?
