MLB 2010: The Second Half

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

But I guess officially it's only Chiti, since Hammer said players returned in the offseason are classified as loans.

No, no. I was only speaking about Noles, and that's the way Baseball Reference listed that particular transaction. I don't know about the others. Noles came to Detroit in 1987 for a PTBNL. I do remember that trade happening. I also remember wondering what in the hell the Tigers were going to do with him. IIRC, the Tigers and Cubs could not agree on who was to be the player, and Noles wound up being that player. The rules might have been a little different back then, I don't know. I'm not going diving into a 1987 rule book. It's easy to classify it now as a loan, 23 years later. Probably a technicality, but essentially that's what happened.

Indians look to have lost catcher Carlos Santana for quite a while. Kalash for the Sox slides into home, Santana was blocking the plate and took it all on the knee/leg which bent back extremely way too far. It was nasty.

That wasn't very Smooth.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Does anyone have any tips about parking around Safeco Field in Seattle?

We're stopping, going to the game, and then heading back for the interstate to our final destination. So, any lots that are close to an on ramp would be great. Thanks.

edit: It would probably be helpful to mention we're going north after the game on I-5.

Andrew McCutcheon....scary moment. Beanball to the back of the NECK. It looked horrible, but looks like he will be okay.

I don't cringe much when watching sports injuries, but this was scary.

There. He hit 600*.

You may return to your regularly scheduled BRETT FAVRE! discussions.

Seems like he's OK. X-rays negative, no concussion, and he hit a HR in his first AB today. (Which is nice, because he's probably the only guy on my fantasy team who's performed better than expectations this year.)

I feel dumb about this cause I don't know but I'll ask anyway.

Has Tampa Bay always played at such a crappy place? It literally is worse than the Metrodome and that's saying something.

Yes. I believe that it's the old Thunderdome.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

It feels a little weird feeling bad for Mark Cuban.

Why would you feel bad for him? Ryan's group had lined up to buy the team before the bankruptcy filing and ensuing auction.

Ryan was going to get this team anyway. MLB had the right to appove the 2nd highest bidder at the end of the auction.
