Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Humphrey, since Lindbergh was from Detroit?

Yeah, but like every intelligent person from Detroit, they got the hell out of there asap. And like the MOST intelligent people from Detroit, they came to Minnesota.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I never cared enough to find out. :p

Now, for being MN, as per this thread, I check the weather all the time, currently to find out if I can have my Jeep's top down. Zero chance of precip? Oh yeah! (c) Kool-Aid. I chanced it last week, and almost paid for it. Work let me run out to put the top up, given the conditions.

The Lindbergh Terminal is now

, which is the main terminal.

The Humphrey Terminal is now

, what is also known as the Charter terminal.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Gentlemen, are we really arguing about airport terminals?

Sadly, I agree with dx, even though he is a homebody. He may give the Commie a run for his money.

We are very territorial, and argue about stuff that absolutely no one else would understand, especially pertaining to the Twin Cities. Even in Duluth, many refer to Twin Citians as "Cidiots."

Pffft. Compared to me, he is a rank amateur.

And this state has always been split along outstate-metro lines, thanks to the never-ending arguments about state funding and where it should go - to the vast sparsely populated areas of the state or to the relatively small yet highly-populated seven-county metro area.

He is on the fast-track, and he is more local than you. Right now, you both are very comparable.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I don't know about that. You haven't really made a strong evidence-based case for it as of yet.

We've stopped asking you. He's closer, we've made invites. And calls. And texts. Nothing. You at least respond. Just saying. He's Commie Lite In Training. I think there may be an acronym in there.............

You haven't stopped asking me - you just float a day or days out there, and I tell you I'm scheduled to work. Wash, rinse, repeat. :p

Starting in a couple weeks, I'll be on day mode for a month - however, my weekends are fairly occupied. The first weekend off (10th-11th) is very bike-heavy; I'm doing a 60(?) mile ride on the 10th and the St. Paul Classic on the 11th. The following weekend is *kind of* open. Friday night (16th) would work far better than Saturday night the 17th, because I'm doing the Minneapolis bike tour the morning of the 18th. Then a couple days after that, I'm headed to Colorado for obvious reasons.

Right now, it looks like the *only* weekend without plans on my entire vacation will be the 1st-2nd of October (and that of course could change).

So it's worthless to talk to you, as usual. DX at least (until he moved) gave us the time of day. Then rejected us. So there.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

More proof that he's stuck in amateur status. :D

The opposite. You can always use travel as an excuse. Until very recently, he couldn't. Now he does. He's "learneding" (c) Ralph Wiggum.

I don't know if I've ever used travel as an excuse. Schedule? Sure.

And come on, I gave a day that works that's three weeks out. How can you not work with that? :p

Heh, "Cidiots". I like it. I might have a new word to throw around at work when I get frustrated.

Because, I, growing up in Michigan, would have no idea what it's like to live in a state where all the funding and attention goes to a certain highly populated metro area while the rest is pretty much ignored. ;)

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Friday, September 16th? Yeah, I can go out that night.

And FTR, more money needs to go outstate. **** the cities.

I knew you wouldn't be a vag about it like Brent. :p

FTR, the vast majority of tax revenue comes from the twin cities area. It's little different than the federal government allocating money largely received from the most populous states and sending significant chunks of it to sparsely populated ones.

Diva, I'm guessing this dynamic exists in a large number of states.
