Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

So that was a pretty good t-storm here in downtown as viewed from the 24th floor. Was a little concerned about the galss holding as it vibrated away.
That sir was snow... in August.

Well it was hail that had melted down to a very small size anyways.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

A couple huge trees (3-4 feet in diameter at the base of the trunk) were uprooted by my work. It was just in a 2-3 block area, too. Very odd.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

There were some strong wind gusts that rolled through with that front at about 5:20 this morning. It was loud enough to wake me up, luckily it wasn't too much earlier than my alarm is supposed to go off.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I woke up a few times last night. I don't know the times, but it got pretty loud on the south side here, hearing both thunder and wind.

Windy here too, about the same time, but no thunder or anything (that I heard). I don't wake up for much, and the winds were strong enough that I got up like I never was asleep to close the window.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

That system started out really nasty to the west, but it began to die out once it hit the metro area. The text message I got from the U was warning about 60mph winds and hail, but it just ended up being some light rain and less destructive levels of wind.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Thought I'd get a little nostalgia. I decided to watch Airport!. Never seen it, but heard alot about it.

Its starting off showing the Lindburgh terminal getting dumped on...should be fun. I'm hoping the home town team (mother nature) beats up on those interlopers...Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin. Its off to a good start...a plane stuck in a snow drift.

A whole lot of big *** thunderboomers going on here in SE Michigan. Looks to be mostly all cloud to cloud lightning. Just rolls on forever.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for calling it Lindbergh.

Is that the main one or little one?

Really, that's the way I tell the difference. It was never Lindbergh, or Humphrey, or 1, or 2. It was the main one, and the little one.

You are THIS close to having your Minnesota card revoked.

Don't threaten me, son.

I flew maybe twice before I turned 26. I didn't care what the terminals were named (although 1 and 2 are incredibly stupid, given the reasons they changed them). There was the main one, and the crappy little one. Not that difficult.

Also known as Lindbergh and Humphrey. I knew that from day 1. C'mon Brent...

Who is the greater Minnesotan? He has the greater terminal.

Edit: I just woke up and totally misread your initial post and thought you were claiming the baby terminal was somehow better. Nevermind, move along, nothing to see here.

I never cared enough to find out. :p

Now, for being MN, as per this thread, I check the weather all the time, currently to find out if I can have my Jeep's top down. Zero chance of precip? Oh yeah! (c) Kool-Aid. I chanced it last week, and almost paid for it. Work let me run out to put the top up, given the conditions.
