Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

all winning goals in the U22 were scored by Gophers, gotta like that
This was an entry related to GWH relevant to the thread.

Following are examples of posts that are not and not really belonging in the thread. Sure hope I can be indulged per my opinion. ;)

To quote the great Derrick Coleman....."Wooop-deee-dam-dooooo"

So have they started the MN hockey moms reality show yet?

I hope that includes some of the players too since a bunch of MN girls got kicked out of the U15 national camp for bad behavior.

And 2 of the 4 Canadian goals were scored by Clarkson women :) . LGT :D

"WHOOOO WHOOOO"

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

there are only 7 weeks left to bask before we have to start arguing over who is #1 again

number of goals scored by Gophers= 5
number of goals scored by Canada, not including Gophers = 3

another Gopher win!

Indulging...

The 2015/2016 Gopher freshmen and newcomers to the program with songs attached to their first names. Much like this group a very eclectic mix of music. Unfortunately no joy for Tianna Gunderson so something a little different for her.

1. Sarah Potomak - Starship "Sara" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32ScTb6_KHg
2. Taylor Williamson - Jack Johnson "Taylor" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKcXT2Hpx2k
3. Sophie Skarzynski - Auro Dione "Song for Sophie" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcLRD9g2Yrg
4. Emma May - Alkaline Trio "Emma" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxpYcuuKvm0
5. Anna Barlow - Beatles "Anna (Go To Him)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjaqECIzax0
6. Sierra Smith - Maddie and Tae "Sierra" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJmYpUKsBuU

8. Caitlin Riley - Xander Smith "Oh Caitlin" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNR850N1pQQ

Holy smokes, Batman!!....somebody has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on his/her hands.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

Agree 100%! It's actually more than a bit creepy.

It was somewhat along the lines of stuff I did in the posters poll thread last year. As an avid music listener and having sons in the "music" business (playing and recording) it a pretty simple thing for me to come up with. Putting the Youtube links into the post is the most time consuming and even that doesn't take much time.

It is meant to be not taken too seriously, but I do apologize if it is something that really does seem creepy to you.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

It doesn't take that much time: enter a name in YouTube, pick one of the hits and copy the link. Certainly no more creepy that going from thread to thread trying to start arguments with strangers.

That first part in searching would honestly be even easier. Truth be told, I quick hand-wrote a list then specifically looked for those links and copied them into the post.

I think I'm 'bout ready for a hockey season. Few more warm days then...

Suddenly projections for Ms Barlow go way up. She could easily be a first liner based on these criterion.

if you spent 15 min on that it's too much time [and my guess it was at least an hour, I don't care what computer program you claim to use]...weird, odd, or just plain creepy...take ur pick.

Seems good natured and harmless enough to me FiveHoleFrenzy.

Probably wasting my time (evidently according to you I'm pretty good at that) but see post 267 if it bothers you so much. Hey and thanks for taking time out of your busy day to care enough about what I do with my time.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

... in other news ...

seems to me last year may have been a slight decrease in attendance, or more correctly, the number of bodies at Ridder

it looks like the basking has carried over to season ticket sales, appears to be an increase, maybe someone has a better handle on it
ZI'm thinking there will be a slight increase in the number of bodies at Ridder this year, maybe more than slight

16 regular season games, I think the WCHA 1st round are included, not sure about the second
and the exhibition games, appear to be free?

The official numbers don't show an increase over 2013-14, but there are enough asterisks to make a comparison rather meaningless. The average for 23 home games last year is given as 2037, and that includes the two Frozen Four games. Meanwhile, the prior season didn't have a Frozen Four, but it did have the outdoor game, which helped it to an average of 2394. To your point, whatever the official attendance was listed for the game at "The Bank", there were fewer people actually there from what I could see. I hope interest is increasing; the ladies sure deserve it.

As for the question about postseason tickets, the WCHA Final Face-Off has always been a separate ticket apart from the host's season ticket package, but the first round has been included the last few years. That piece must be up to the individual school.

On this I think we can all agree.

If I remember the game at the "Bank" correctly, the tickets were good for both games, and yet they announced different attendance figures for each game. My guess is that everyone who entered during the women's game counted toward their attendance. During the game, I took a tour of the concession areas, and there were quite a number of fans standing up there. Add in all the people huddled in the heated rest rooms, and I am willing to believe the attendance they published.

As for attendance at Ridder, it seems to me that teams like UMD don't bring as many fans as they have in the past. Don't know if that is a function of fearing that seats will not be available or a function of the team's recent performance.
